JT, you can always address the Boogaloo text quotes in a subsequent post if you so desire. It seems as though you may have something of extreme interest to add to this discussion.

Toney was 200 pound football player before he was a boxer he was alot naturally bigger than Hagler hence his chin could withstand the bigger fighters when he moved up.

I don't think Haglers chin would have the same success at higher weights simply because Hagler was a fairly small Middleweight he's probably the same size as someone like Devin Haney in modern era.

Marshall was reportedly dropped multiple times en route to losing a decision in their 1st fight. According to this news report, "García llevaba una considerable ventaja en puntos" ("Garcia was holding a considerable advantage on points") when the stoppage occurred in their rematch. Neither result bodes well for Marshall in a hypothetical matchup vs. an opponent that was naturally larger & more versatile than Garcia while still packing 2-fisted power in his own right.

"Marshall had a slight lead in the bout, when it was stopped due to cuts over both of his eyes. Marshall used lots of foul tactics in this bout, such as elbows, thumbing, and shoulder butting.

Marshall's performance was much better than his first bout with Garcia, where he had fought competitively, but had been knocked down several times."Box Rec
Marshall campaigned successfully against Light heavies koing Freddie Mills in5 rds,He was giving Mills 10 lbs,I doubt he would be overpowered because of size or power, by158lbs Hagler.

Marshall gave 11lbs to tough chinned Joey Maxim and floored him twice.
He gave Hatchet Man Sheppard 9 lbs and beat him.
He beat Lamotta, yet Hagler is going to bully him?
Marshall won and lost against some terrific fighters.
    Among those he beat are
    Maxim
    Cristoforidis
    Fitzpatrick
    Overlin
    Brouillard
    Chase
    Bolden
    Lamotta
    Charles
    Sheppard
    Williams
    Burley
    Risko
    Hogue
    DeJohn
He beat men every bit as good as those Hagler defeated, and in some cases better!

IDK whose words these are, but I quoted directly from a contemporary news account of the 2nd fight. Aside from that, your quote acknowledges that Marshall was dropped several times in their 1st fight - I don't see how that contradicts the notion that Garcia's firepower was too much for him.

The OP specified that this fight would take place under 160.

Why not? Hagler bullied Hearns far more quickly & efficiently than any1 could realistically expect LaMotta to do.

Again, a good many of these wins took place above 160.

    You said.
"Marshall was also overwhelmed twice by the firepower of Ceferino Garcia, " And its not accurate.he was floored multiple times in their 1st fight but went the distance.
He was stopped on a cut eye in their 2nd fight, but not floored so it does expressly contradict your statement.
You say Garcia was really a light middle, but then point to Hagler beating Hearns, wasn't he really a welterweight? Duran ex light weight.Leonard [loss]ex welter, Mugabi light middle.Antuofermo draw and win,ex light middle. It's an easy game to play isn't it.
The quote I posted says it was made by Eddie Muller of the Examiner, and its in Murderer's Row by Springs Toledo.
Eddie Muller (image), born in the Mission District of San Francisco, served as a boxing columnist for the San Francisco Examiner for nearly fifty years, after having begun his career at the newspaper as a copy boy in February 1924. He was a "key figure" in the establishment of San Francisco's annual Golden Gloves competition. In addition to writing his column "Shadow Boxing," Muller was the author of several books about fighting, including "Boxing Gems" and "Photo Gallery of Boxing Greats." He retired from the Examiner in 1976. (All according to the Dec. 4, 1982 San Francisco Chronicle, which also reported that Muller had died of a heart attack at age 75.)

His son, who has the same name as his father, is a professional film critic and the author of two novels (The Distance and Shadow Boxer) set in the San Francisco Bay area during the 1940s and featuring a protagonist, modeled after his father, who makes his living as a boxing writer.

Inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame, "Expanded Category" (Writers & Historians & Photo Journalists), in 1981.

I quoted directly from the contemporary report in the Oakland Tribune,so how is your source any more valid than mine?
Marshall ,at 160lbs beat Lamotta and Burley, which are Hagler's best 2 wins at the weight and why do you think they are better?
I'm not saying Marshall beats Hagler ,though he has a good chance,I'm saying Hagler does not overwhelm him which you appear to be going to some tortuous lengths to say.
