What a moron ! Who won that fight against Devalle ? Who happened to be Roys former sparring partner ?? And who DM actually ducked ! He spent his prime avoiding who ?? List the guys he ducked ??He collected trinkets that shows your level of ignorance ! Name the trinkets he collected ??All you do is come here with your **** checkers and talk the same stupid **** ..People like your should never follow a man's sport ! He never beat a lineal champ ? Did Vrigil Hill ? I mean really he unified the divison after beating Reggie Johnson ! Really go somewhere with your stupidity !
You have been schooled on this topic in multiple threads. He fought only two of his generation's best, the rest he ducked while collecting vacant titles and alphabet belts whose owners did not mean ****. He was a ducker, a Glass Jawed Fraud, and a joke. End of story. I win. Next.
Schooled by whom not one of you can school **** ! Only thing you guys school is each other in the bedroom ! He collected vacant titles really u sure about that ?? Please enlighten all of us !! The only frauds around here are jokes like you :good
How many times do you have to be told, dummy? The guy never, EVER beat a single lineal, unified, or undisputed champion. That means none of the belts he had were worth the materials used to make them. They meant nothing, nothing whatsoever. The guy did nothing but jump weight classes, cherrypick the easiest titles he could find, and beat up has-beens and never-weres in-between divisions. That is all easily proven, it is common knowledge to people who were actually watching Boxing at that time. It is why even people at HBO and everyone in the Boxing public were calling him Reluctant Roy. He refused to take any stiff challenges because he knew that there was a fair chance that his Fragile Glass Mandible would be shattered. Wipe your hero's load out of your eyes and wake up to the truth, fanboy.hi:
How many guys DO beat lineal, unified or undisputed champions? Please, name them. Does the term 'lineal' actually mean a great deal in this day and age? I mean, just look at someone like Vitali Klitschko: how many lineal, undisputed or unified champions has he beaten?
Ah yes the old lineal nonsense ..I wonder what you have to say about Vrigil Hill who was once a lineal champ but never beat a lineal champ himself ? Also dumb ass Jones became the undipsuted lt heavy weight champ when he beat Reggie Johnson ..Something that hadn't been dones since Spinks unified the division :good Thanks for playing u uneducated clown! Also go look at the guys HBO wanted him to fight he beat 3 of the 4 guys they mention genius ! Man your an ametuer with your arguments ! This is why kids like you should not follow a man's sport :good The guy basically cleaned out the lt heavy weight division beating everyone worth mentioning but yet some clown that goes by the name of Metal Mandible says he cherry picked and were suppose to beleive you You really have no idea as to what the **** you are talking about ..Your only good for the little icons u add to your posts !
Inexperience is my only issue with picking Roy. It's hard to say how well he handles any legit, prime ATG at that point of his career, nevermind one as good as Hagler. Honestly though, I feel he hit his prime rather early and was already there by the end of his run at 160. He was an unnaturally intuitive fighter, one of the few things he isn't given enough credit for I think. His most impressive performance - maybe the single most impressive performance of the entire 90's - happened in his very first fight after leaving the weight. Yeah, I'd pick him to take a clear decision over even the best version of Hags at Middleweight. Not a ton of confidence in it though.
If this fight took place in their primes, and in an era where fighters weigh in the day of the fight, something Hagler did and Roy didn't, Hagler wins, most likely by late stoppage. In today's circumstances, Roy would probably out way Marvin by 10+ pound and eke out a close decision. In a fair weighted match I'd pick Hagler 9 times out of 10
