I've judged Pacman-JMM 2 and Trinidad-De La Hoya the past two nights and had some fun with it... Tonight I'll be doing Marvin Hagler vs Sugar Ray Leonard
Round 1: 10-9 Leonard...Clearly Round 2: 10-9 Leonard...Close Round 3: 10-9 Hagler...Close Round 4: 10-9 Hagler...Close Round 5: 10-9 Hagler...Clearly Round 6: 10-9 Hagler...Close Halfway Point: 58-56 Hagler Round 7: Hagler...Clearly Round 8: Hagler...Clearly Round 9: Hagler...Clearly Round 10: Hagler...Close Round 11: Leonard...Clearly Round 12: Leonard...Close Final: 116-112 Hagler
Now that is some funny **** right there. Try 5-1 Leonard with Hagler taking rd 5, ****ing hell. atsch
I said those rounds were close...Round 5 was clear. I could see people scoring the other rounds for leonard; but personally, I felt hagler won those rounds
Leonard won rounds 1 and 11 clearly. Hagler won rounds 5, 7, 8, and 9 clearly. I had hagler winning 3,4,6, and 10 in close rounds. I had Leonard winning rounds 2 and 12 in close rounds.
I agree with every rd here so your not totally insane but how you came up with the scoring for the 1st half of this fight I`ll never know. Here is mine....... 1- Leonard clear 2- Leonard clear 3- Leonard close 4- Leonard clear 5- Hagler clear 6- Leonard close 7- Hagler clear 8- Hagler clear 9- Hagler close 10- Hagler close 11- Leonard clear 12- Leonard close 115-113 for Leonard Some rds that I marked as clear were quite close rds but I had no problem deciding who had won them. :thumbsup
Leonard close but clear decision Hagler knew he lost that fight, he could of easily won but fought the wrong gameplan, and sold out to SRL's demands, I'm a bigger Hagler fan than Ray Leonard but Hagler deserved to lose that fight. Really the fight was more of Hagler losing it than Leonard winning it.
How? He petitioned this fight and believes he won to this day...He also points to this fight (and it's results) as part of his reasoning for retirement.
I'm sorry, and I understand that alot of people who talk about this fight haven't really shut everything off, gone into a room alone, no distractions, and focused hard on every minute of every round, ever. It's embarrassing to think that a "serious boxing fan" could think that Ray Leonard won that fight. That's for the celebrities who were celebrating like Elvis had come back from the dead when they announced Ray as the winner. That's for superficial, fake boxing fans who only watch the huge megafights every five years. That's for idiots who played into the good guy vs. bad guy angle. MARVIN HAGLER CLEARLY WON THAT FIGHT. I find it a complete ****ing JOKE, sincerely, in my heart of hearts, that anyone who can call themselves a serious boxing fan would even suggest anything otherwise.
I agree with you...I honestly can't see why Leonard should get the decision in this fight. Yet, the announcers thought he won and as uc in the poll, 50% of the boxing public felt leonard won...I feel like I'm missing something.
