well vito has a pre prime loss to Harold one year after turning pro. not the same as several losses by pre prime Lamotta

    something like 9? 10?

why then does the poster claim that Lamotta is CLEARLY superior to Vito?

    WHAT makes Jake clearly superior?

he sure dont look like it on film

he cant punch. he's not Micheal Nunn. he's not Terry Norris. just what qualities makes him so superior?

    the poster never clarified

LOL! Hagler wouldnt edge him out. He'd tear him to pieces spitting out chunks of meat before battering him into a late tko

Hagler's fought crushers, killers. Trust me, I love and appreciate Robbie's style but hagler's too tough and fierce. sometimes I wonder if he had an ounce of humanity in him

If you're going to discredit Lamotta for losses to SRR then at least have the decency to add that the fights were very close. In my opinion Lamotta was winning a good part of his last fight with SRR. Actively out jabbing him. One of the fights he lost was controversial too.

Duathille and Villemain were very talented fighters. Lamotta just had a bad night with Hudson. Basora was a good contender but Lamotta was still pre-prime. Did you somehow forget that Lamotta drew with Basora as well and went back to give him a beating to win?

I'm not even going to address the Billy Fox fight. Anyone who knows a little about boxing should already know all about that.

If we are talking SRR on HIS BEST NIGHT AS A MIDDLEWEIGHT he wins. He was the more complete fighter, quicker and was one of few who could throw a ko blow while on the move. Sugar by decision.

i understand but the poster had the audacity to say that Lamotta was CLEARLY superior to Vito

I would like to know how

    His record doesnt prove it

and the films dont either, what there are of him

so what then, does the poster have to go by?

    poppycock. on both counts

In fact, robbie moving back, had to then plant himself momentarily to deliver the hook and you failed to pick it up

one more thing I would like to correct is that hags wouldnt settle for anything less than Robbie at his best. Hagler is not shy about fighting and does not get intimidated by top notch competition

how much you want to bet that Hart's left to the head is more intimidating than Duran's scowl?

there's not significantly removed from prime - Leonard from the Norris fight

then there's shot - Hagler from the Leonard fight

I remember Bob Arum saying one reason he matched Duran and Hagler ...was that he saw both of them together at some Boxing Event.....and they were both relatively the same size.

Since you claim that Hagler had unquestionably more power than SRR, surely you can find a KO that Hagler produced similar to this no?

Lamotta was a better fighter than Antuofermo who was a in fact a very good fighter in his era. If you watch film of Lamotta instead of going by paper then you would understand.
