Classic of classics. Kind of puts in perspective the garbage we call 'PPV Event Boxing' these days.

More years have gone by since the fight than Thomas Hearns was old at that time. He was 26 in 1985.. Hagler was only 30.

but next month we can add one of these guys to the mix and make that champ count get to a nice more EVEN number of champs at "8" and up for grabs is that ever elusive interim world title....

Actually I have seen better back and forth action none stop action fights than The War in recent years. Not saying the War wasn't great, just saying Boxing has given us some Classics in recent years. Not all are PPV events are garbage, just the Mayweather and Hopkins ones(not all of them), and some Pac ones.

we all know Martinez is the #1 fighter at that division, why didn't you just put his picture? can't blame him when other fighters holding "world tittles" won't fight him.

It's been that long? I watched the fight in the Philippines and rememebered reading the paper the next day that 2 Hearns fans (in the Philippines) suffered heart attacks and died the moment their favorite fighter hit the canvas.

Good job mate. That picture reflects perfectly the overall feeling that pours out from boxing today. Pieces of what is left from a great era.
