tony was just a hype job. never beat a top guy in his life. just one of those boxing myths. like a jr. middleweight michael grant.
Well on his game and peak Marvin wasn't all that chinny and took a fair shot at times. Tony was also quite unpolished at the time of going to jail and even if he hurt and dropped Marvin in the early rounds i think Hagler's experience and guile would have snuck him into the late middle rounds. I can't see the usual Ayala blowout in 1 or 2 tho many and possibly will no doubt see it as very possible. I think Tony will ease into the bout against such a respected foe, dancing around the perimeter of the ring peppering Marvin with his long educated snapping left hand while slipping countering with his usual brilliance and flair.
Ayala would go all out, but as soon as he realizes Hagler's not going anywhere. Ayala will be in for a slow beating much the same kind of fight as the Hamsho fight. Hagler by TKO about the ninth round.
I see. Perfectly plausable scenario. As long as Hagler doesn't make the mistake of saying something to anger Tony, or agravate him with the lights glaring off his cranium. If angered I'd look for Ayala to finish him quick. If Haglers head looks shiny, Ayala ko2 Hagler
