HAGLER: With the Pacquiao and Mayweather fight, I think that Mayweather might be a little scared. But then there’s another thing, and he’s almost looking like a Sugar Ray Leonard in the type of sense where he is dictating all of the time. Hello! If you’re going to fight, let’s fight! Let’s stop all this stuff. Let’s just get it on! I mean that is what boxing is about. So he’s trying to gain more money or whatever. I mean you already made enough money. Do you want to fight the guy? Yes or no? And I think that Pacquiao is saying, ‘Come on! Let’s do it today’. But I wouldn’t wait around for Mayweather. I would take another fight and still make as much money as I can and then leave the game while I’m still on top.

Actually I don't agree with Marv there. Sugar is above Floyd in the sense of his resume and actually taking on the best throughout his career....but with the "concessions" comment.... I can see similarities but I don't think it's a problem as long as it doesn't prevent fights from happening.....Like it has in make the fight with Manny.

But I think Marvin is spot on with his assesment of the situation. Fighters are suppose to fight....do you want to lace up and go at it or would you like to make up reasons NOT to fight?

I hope not! Marvin is a respected icon in boxing and he's not one who deserves disrespect for voicing his opinion... NOT with what he's done in the sport. He's a true warrior and a great person. I've met him one time and he's just an incredible person.

It is a similar personality match up.

Manny and Marvin the warriors who will be much more respected by knowledgable fans in future generations. Both considered great people outisde of the ring.

Mayweather and Leonard the celebrity/money boxers who have to suffer whispers about being pussies throughout their career. Both questionable characters outside the ring.

May not be fair but that is the general perception.

I don't think he looks at himself like PAC at all. He just thinks like a "FIGHTER"...meaning they fight and that is something in common. Ray also FOUGHT! He had a lot of leverage during his day like Floyd and Manny but he still made fights happen....he just could call shots b/c of his stock and popularity. But that NEVER prevented him from making meaningful fights.

Marv saying Floyd is scared is no more different than what the vast Majority are saying. It's of course his opinion....but one based on the actions and comments Floyd has put out there. People come up with their own conclusions on the situation and most of those opinions are on level with Marvins.

Yeah, but Hagler didn't say how Pac would win which is why Hagler's comments seem biased. Even if Hagler said Floyd would win, I'd say the same thing. Sugar said Floyd would beat PAc a while back-so what... Everyone has an opinion on who wins that fight...and fans go back and forth on this. JMM was called biased for saying Floyd would win...go figure.

Im not sure i agree with you here, anyone who steps in the ring is a warrior, but they are regarded as warriors because they eat more punches which just means they arent as intelligent as boxers. So to say that both of them will be much more respected is not correct.

Which knowledgeable fans are you taling about? Pacfans?

How is Sugar Ray Leonard have a questionable character outside the ring?
