Hates such a strong word and Hagler doesn't hate Ray. He may not like the situation but he doesn't hate Ray as a person.

Not sure if FLoyd took the vaca to build up his frame and muscles but its possilbe. Just not likely.

And as a pro athlete and roll model you should show a POSITIVE and STRONG character. And based on how the allegations and demands came about I think it shows MORE character to stick to your principles and not allow someone to take advantage of you than to lie down and concede to someone eles demands.

The "character" and "role model" angle by far favors Manny....and by him NOT accpeting ALL the demands and stipulations Floyd countered with suggests that Manny has got his weight up! He's not letting Floyd dictate to him what he wants in order to get him to do his job.

As a role model and a pro athelte it's your job to be respectful no only to your craft but to the people who make up the sport. That's IF you consider yourself a role model. Floyd obviously doesn't! Other wise how he went about demanding the tests and spreading the rumors without evidence wouldn't have been a thought.

Never seen a fighter who his fans claim is still P4P #1 that avoids the biggest fight of his career and legends come out everyday and state that the other man is better and would win if they fought. Floyd looks worse day by day.

Sugar Ray's lay-off wasn't exactly ideal preparation either. He was past his best also. It was an incredible win to pull off if you ask me.

Wasn't there a thread on here where the majority of boxers asked picked Mayweather?

Hagler thad to give into every demand Leanard made to get him in ring, everything from size of ring, type of canvass, and who got first choice at gloves (Fighters try on several pairs before fight to get feel for best fit)

I do think Mayweather is stalling. However he had point on drug testing. So with that, both pac fans and mayweather fans can be pissed off at me.

Everyone wants this fight it seems.....except for the other half to this equation which is Floyd. I don't think the principles are the same for each man, but I thnk the reason why Floyd is having trouble accepting this fight is b/c he can't control Manny....no matter what he does PAC has got just as much leverage and say in the negotiations....That's not somthing Floyd is use to.

***llege is just twisting Hagler's words. Hagler meant that Mayweather is like Leonard in a sense that they both like to dictate other fighters. :deal

Leonard was younger, had far fewer fights and wasn't nearly as shopworn as Hagler. But most importantly, despite openly discussing a fight with Marvin for at least 6 years,he wanted NOTHING to do with fighting Marvin until he knew Marvin was shot, which he was.Btw,good luck on Sunday versus An Dun.

Both Leonard and Hagler had declined by 1987. Hagler's legs weren't the same, and neither were his reflexes. He used to have good parrying defense and head movement but the slow Roldan was able to tag him with surprising frequency. It was pretty obvious watching the Mugabi fight that Hagler had become easier to hit and slower. Leonard admits he saw the decline in this fight.

But Leonard himself was the smaller man and had fought just one time (unimpressively) in five years. His stamina wasn't the same, he looked fatigued fairly quickly against Hagler. Leonard was a fighter whom Manny Steward said had the best stamina he'd seen. It was the 15th round and after taking a hammering to the body from Duran in an intense fight, he was doing well and finished the fight stronger than Roberto.
