We've just had a Marvin Hart v Leon Spinks thread - where most posters seemed to be in Hart's corner.

Now Leon was of course one of the smaller modern HW champions - so I wonder, how you guys think Hart would do against a bigger, stronger lad like Bruno?

Now this is an interesting one.

On paper you should theoretically favor Hart, but you might not want to bet against Bruno's physical advantages.

Bruno gets him out of there inside six.

This will be washed as “too old” but really he was the sort of guy made to beat Bruno. The inside fighting alone would be a giant gulf in skill just because of the era Hart is from.

These Fights used to look so simple to me.
Big Frank, recent heavyweight, big hitter
    Hart... No chance.

But now? I'm gonna think about it.

I'm going Frank early, I think he gets in there, rams him with his Jab and basically batters him.
    Bruno wrsf 5.

Can someone tell me how racist Marvin Hart was? I am interested as from what I know he was horrendously racist.

The lack of film of Hart, makes it hard to be sure what you are picking for/against.

He might have looked like Tom Sharkey, or he might have looked like Jack Dempsey.

    We just don't know.

One factor that will be important to some, is the size difference.

Hart's peak weight was about 190.

The nearest thing to Bruno that he fought, was Sandy Ferguson, and that might be worth a close look.

Ferguson was a big heavyweight, standing between 6' 3'' and 6' 4'', an naturally weighing well over 200lbs.

He was inconsistent, but he was willing to take on the top black contenders, and sometimes bested them.

Now Hart does have a win over Ferguson, but a lot of the media seems to have disagreed with the decision.

So that is as clear as mud then!
