I'll post the report if there's enough interest. An interesting one, a green Hart, coming off his shock victory over Tommy West. Creedon, by this point was an old veteran, who hadn't been living properly for a long time. It really seems to have been a war, Creedon using his trust hooks, and Hart his pure aggression, with both hurt over and over until Hart wears down Creedon.
Sounds like a classic tale of young Lion vs old lion. I’ve often wondered about Marvin Hart and his capturing of the vacated title after Jeffries retired. Not someone I’ve researched much
Pretty much. Hart wasn't terrible but seems pretty mediocre to me. I think he gets too much credit for the win against Johnson which seemed to have little to do with his merits as a fighter. Others think differently though.
I’m not well educated on that side of boxing history but i once asked the question of how boxing history might have been differently perceived if Jeffries beat Hart - then hart beat Johnson- and Jeffries remained retired without fighting Johnson.
IIRC Jeffries was willing to fight Hart after Hart fought Johnson, but there wasn't really enoungh interest in it
