Marvin Johnson was nothing more than a well tuned brawler who was aggressive as all hell.... Johnson was a mugger; never a big puncher... Johnson could also be parked if tagged on the button....

Its possible Johnson would out-hustle a passive Tarver at 175, but Tarver could still out-box Johnson over the distance.....

Yeah, because Tarver was right on a par with those guys.

Again, Tarver gets dicked over by many posters here in 2011..... Regardless if he does get dicked a lot, he still is skilled and capable at the world class level between 175 and 200 pounds.... Christ, at age 42 and nearly 200 pounds, Tarver baby looks a wee bit re-energized since he can now eat and swallow some food and drink in camp....

No doubt after doing "Rocky Balboa" and then reducing back down to 175 for B-Hops in '06, Tarver was drained and limp down that low.... Tarver even looked limp against Chadwick Dawson at 175 on both occasions, too.... I'm stunned Tarver waited so long to move up....

Tarver could barely contain a 500 year old comparatively pillow fisted Glen Johnson.

He had good power and an awkward style, but other than managing to re-create Nunn vs Kalambay with Jones, he was a fairly ordinary fighter imo.

Tarver because he was bigger and tougher and proven as well.
