Marvin Johnson vs John Conteh

That's true. Johnson would put more sustained pressure on Conteh early. But, if Conteh survives this early pressure, you just know Johnson will gas late as always and Conteh will outbox him. 1979 Conteh may have trouble holding Johnson off, because Conteh was basically one handed at his point, but prime 1974-1976 Conteh who had two good hands will negate Johnson's pressure tactics and simply outbox him.
