    Just read an article on Russian news that Maskaev has already started his training for his title defense against Sam Peter. While the negotiations about the purse split with don king are still in progress, according to Maskaev it looks like both camps will come to a concensus. don king's office confirmed it.

    I hope so too. But with all the "honest and respectable" parties involved, the situation can change any moment 360 degrees.

    I very much hope that Maskaev kicks the African 's ass out of the ring.
    45% of the purse is a joke! Who the hell does Sam's camp think their boy is?
    An American based African who cant even sell enough tickets to fill a local American box arena.Nevertheless his camp demands 45% of the purse!
    Damn! He is the title challenger-not the reigning champ.
    Would be glad to see Vitaly vs Maskaev come off!

    Well, let's hope that Maskaev somehow manages to beat Peter (hopefully with a ref who stops the blows round the back of the head) and then he can make a super-fight with Vitali.

    Let's also hope that it doesn't all go wrong and we end up with Jameel McCline versus Samuel Peter... That would be awful!

    How many times has maskaev been knocked out,i see peter knocking maskev out in the first round,we all know peter has a iron chin and i cant say maskaev surviving 1 punch from peter.

    some people seem to forget just how much Sam Peter sucks.

    This is a 50-50 fight the way I see it, and I'll be rooting for Maskaev all the way.

    but big sam's power punch's are so slow he sends you a note in advance to tell you roughly when it will be arriving.

    It wouldnt cause Klitschko is emeritus! So it would be Peter-Vitali, but probably like in January, since Vitali has a fight already.
