First round knock out loss to Nagy Aguilera. I guess its about over, and we will have to suffer an Austin-Vitali bout.

Vitali ought to abandon the WBC trincket and ask for a WBA eliminator.

boxrec had that guy ranked 155 in the world.....he blows out that dumbass who was actually in court trying to force vitali and the WBC to give him a fight!! see this is what happens and why contenders should fight each other...mascaev had NO BUSINNESS calling out for a mandatory fight for a belt!!

Indeed, this is the best thing that could have happened to him. Vitali, or even the Rainman, might have done damage to him that he would not have walked away from.

Congratulations to Aguilera. And congratulations to MAskaev for a career made good. I remember watching in that first fight in whcih McAll starched him- he was rushed into it and who knows what his career might have been if he were brought along the right way. But in any event, he found his way to a title, which, even in today's day and age, is a hell of an accomplishement.

Sam Peters ruined Maskaev, that is why he lost.

Good to see another past-it heavyweight fighter get out of the heavyweight title picture and give another young heavyweight fighter a chance.

That's the reason Vitali went to court to avoid having to fight Maskaev! It was a no contest. Maskaev has not been the same since his back surgery.

I guess Aguilera will fight Austin next.
