Just read an interview with Oleg's manager on the talk of boxing. He said that we can expect to see middleweight moves and speed from Maskaev. Judging by how slow Maskaev has looked these past few years, I highly doubt that this will be the case.
You forking the $15 over to NESportsTV.com to watch it live, or just going to stay glued to boxrec for results and catch the HL when/if posted to Youtube? Not sure if they're even showing the rest of the card, but looks like crap anyway.
Someone on BR just said Aguilera won by first round knockout... Trying to find confirmation, hopefully BS. :-(
mascaev is a damn joke....this guy he is fighting is horrible, which would be what mascaev has been feasting on between knock out losses how can you get knocked out in a world title fight, then over 18 months time fight 3 fights all against guys not even ranked 50 in the world, but yet he somehow is gonna be in line for a shot again? how does that work again?
Heavyweight Nagy Aguilera (15-2, 10 KOs) scored a spectacular first round knockout over former WBC heavyweight champion Oleg Maskaev (36-7, 27 KOs) on Friday night at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California. The 40-year-old Maskaev was dropped twice by his 23-year-old foe before the bout was waved off by referee Lou Moret. The loss will cost the WBC #2 Maskaev a world title eliminator against Ray Austin. boxrec had that guy ranked 155 in the world.....he blows out that dumbass who was actually in court trying to force vitali and the WBC to give him a fight!! see this is what happens and why contenders should fight each other...mascaev had NO BUSINNESS calling out for a mandatory fight for a belt!!
Leave the dude alone, it's sounding like he just got retired. :verysad For the record, if he had won this the plan was to then have an eliminator with Austin. That's how that was going to work, wiseguy - it wasn't going to be a title shot right after Aguilera. As it is, you can wash your hands of him, he isn't your problem anymore. He said if he lost on the road to the title he'd be done. Thanks for the memories, Big O (mainly the Rahman fights ).
yeah, when you fight and beat a guy ranked # 155 in the world, i see your point that he should fight an eliminator for the right to fight for the title...thanks man, i feel smarter already
Okay, put words in my mouth. Stupid ******. Just because boxrec has him 155 doesn't mean the WBC didn't have him higher. And Maskaev was already high in their rankings to begin with from before his last failed title bid, so yes, beating a few scrubs in a row is about all it takes to set up an eliminator. This is pretty standard fare, welcome to boxing. :hi:
It's what you said too, dumb****: All I did was state the same facts, I wasn't justifying either of their rankings by the WBC.
