Look man, no one is real big on the Maskaev hate, here. He was always limited, and now he is old, shopworn and limited. Its time to hang em up. But it seems most agree with me that he provided us with some good memories and he will leave respected. And hey, Aguilera may be no world beater, but lets give him some props for showing up ready to fight.
all the good memories are getting knocked the **** out by everyone he fought that was worth a ****...his claim to fame is beating rahman 2 times...what else you got that i need to look for or that im missing?
Why can't you shut up about him? OH NO he asked for a mandatory shot at someone he beat as an amateur and deluded himself into thinking he could still handle as a faded pro. How dare he!!!! Well, he just got KTFO of contention. You're still not satisfied? You still need to *****? Sure, keep kicking him while he's down rather than send him off with some class like everyone else. Enjoy your lonely hate party.
i didnt write that, i plagiarized it i got a lil excited there...half the people on here think the guy is justified at fighting an eliminator...and i dont know why, hell i dont think ray austin needs to be up there...he beat Davaryl williamson in an elimantor in his last fight and somehow Davaryl earned that right because his last few fights were getting kod by Meehan beats cerone fox who was 8-8 beats carl davis (who?) who was 14-2 that earned him in a WBC Heavyweight title eliminator with Austin so all this **** has me baffled all you have to do is exist and you get put in eliminators for the 1 or 2 spot
yeah thats right hes got no class for fighting guys off the chart in the rankings and calling out a shot for a title. earn your ****ing shot, quit getting knocked out, quit talking about a fight that was 25 years ago when he used to win. hes like the ******* that wants to cut to the head of the line at a movie theater....get in line like everyone else and quit trying to bypass the rules . what are you his long lost son or brother? im glad hes gone, hope for good this time.... :thumbsup
But boxing has worked this way for a long time. It is not Maskaev's fault. He does what he has to do. If somebody thinks that more money can be made off the Maskaev name than a no-name worthy contender..then Maskaev will get another shot. And its not like we have a bunch of worthy contenders out there anyways....
