Peter is gonna destroy glass-jawed Oleg. Good god, Oleg was taken out by mediocre arm-puncher Lance Whittaker, journeyman Corey Sanders, and light-hitting Kirk Johnson, to name a few.

Peter is gonna knock Oleg out early. VERY early.

I vote another postponement. Remember it was only two weeks before the last date that Oldlegs pulled out of the fight. It could likely happen again.

But if that falls through, expect Sam Peter to be crowned the legitimate WBC champion. :good

Maskaev can throw a harder shot than McCline, in my opinion, and it was not only the uppercut that McCline was dropping Peter with. As I recall, McCline dropped Peter with an overhand right, high on the temple.........

And Maskaev specializes in hard, overhand rights .

Its on thing to name the fighters who have beaten Maskaev, but those were all SIX years ago, PLUS. The man has improved, and has amassed some pretty good wins in this latest six year streak. The lastest Rahman win showed power and stamina.

Peter has beaten Toney, once.......... ONE fight......that is his entire top tier credentials.

Maskaev will pick up where McCline left off, and thoroughly batter Peter to a TKO stoppage. Late.

If Maskaev uses his movement he will beat Peter. Wlad has a worse chin than Oleg and Peter could not KO him. Peter is the most overrated fighter in Boxing today.

Nope. Vitali Klitschko is going to be arriving in Cancun tomorrow and will step in and fight Peter.

    Maskaev is a warrior.

Maskaev might be able to TKO Peter, but, my mind says Peter by KO early 2-5th.

If a couple of slow moving dinosaurs like Corey "T-Bone" Sanders and Lance "Don't call me Goofi" Whitaker was able to KO Maskaev, then Peter should be able to. SHOULD being the key word.

I think this is going to be a very good fight with alot of drama.

I hope they interview big Vitali, preferrably after the fight when the winner is known, so he can about how he's going to brutalize the winner.

I can tell you how that will happen already.

Vitali will say "I would like to fight _________ in september."

September comes, and Vitali is a no show.

Vitali will say "I was out because ________. We will reschedule this fight for december."

December comes, and Vitali is again a no show.

Vitali will say "I was out because ________. And _________ was pressuring us. We may take ________ to court over this pressure."

Months of litigation ensue. The WBC is pulling their hair out and burning every emeritius bullshitus manual known to man.

And finally, after months and months of waiting, you will see the kind of brutality Vitali puts on his opponent.... in the WALLET. :rofl

When McCline, a 6-6, 270 pound man, gets his entire body into punches with all of his leverage, I'd say he hits harder with one punch than both Maskaev and Peter. He's very dangerous early in fights when he puts everything into his shots.

What happened to Peter when McCline knocked him down three times? What happened to Peter's power when he could not Hurt McCline or knock out a fat, old, over-the-hill middleweight Toney?

Exactly. I don't know how many times this has to be said.

Everyone knows when Waldo fought McCline he hid behind a jab for 10 straight rounds until he found out how tired McCline was. McCline was overcome with nervous energy which is nothing new. And Waldo never actually knocked McCline cold. He landed a good right hand and McCline took a knee and that was that. Nothing I would consider an impressive stoppage.

Everyone that has fought McCline up to this point who fought him with some reckless abandon has tasted the canvas. It's pretty clear now that Teddy Atlas was right when he said that McCline is a scary fighter. He has that rare combination of size, speed and form when he wants to show it.

I'll also add this. You put anyone else in the division in that situation instead of Sam Peter and that guy doesn't get up. No ifs ands or buts about it. Waldo would have been taken out on a stretcher from that right hand in the third. Sam's iron chin was the only reason he survived that looming upset.

McCline had him out, just did not follow up. The judges appeared to be only concerned about pleasing Don King!

I also read that Peter had a ruptured ear drum going into the McCline fight, which can really mess up the equilibrium.

I can't see many heavyweights being able to survive the uppercut and right hand Sam got hit with. And the fact he was able to survive two and a half minutes afterwards is a testament to his chin, toughness, and heart.
