I mean, sure, props to Fulton for fighting Inoue.

But because he is going to Japan? How are people attacking Inoue for having a fight in Japan while Fulton has fought his entire career in the US?

I give respect to any fighter that travels abroad to get some. But, to your point, how many fights in a row has Fulton fought in the US?

I agree, tons of respect for Fulton.

This is what real fighters do, real champions, real warriors.

Pretty much all of Fulton fights have taken place in the US. Fulton deserves all the respect for choosing to risk his title and fight in the challengers backyard who is also likely to be the favorite going in.

Very much agree. Hope he doesn't get blown out inside 3 rounds. Hope he shows some dog and makes Inoue work for it.

Inoue goes where he (and by extension his opponent) get paid most for their efforts. Fulton deserves immense credit for going to Japan, but don't get it twisted...He's making considerably more money to do so than he would if this were being held stateside.

To your other point...Japan's traditionally been pretty fair when it comes to judging. In fact, one of the worst robberies to have occurred in recent memory happened when Hassan N'dam was awarded an utterly atrocious decision against national hero Ryoto Murata in the first fight.

I get where you are coming from, and I would love to see him fight in the US soon.
With that said the guy is a huge celebrity in the prime of his career. He's making great money and gets a ton of exposure fighting in Japan. Typically guys like that tend to fight at home, most champions do.

Yea, I don’t get what the big deal is. Non Americans go to America all the time. Why is it special when Americans finally do it? Don’t get me wrong, I like it but let’s not puff it up as some rare occurrence in worldwide boxing.

Inoue has never needed any bias from judges or refs in this fights. Stop the BS

It's such a rare occurrence for a top American fighter to use their passport and fight one of their opponents in their backyard that on the rare occasions it happens people want to award them a medal of honor. Kudos to Fulton for traveling to Japan but I ain't gonna get my pom poms out and declare him an ATG for doing so.

And how much you want to bet the officials won't be Japanese? In fact, I'll wager none of them will be because the only country in the world which stacks the deck with a home ref and three home judges for world title fights is the US which they do an absolutely scandalous amount of time.

Murata is the golden boy and was the most popular boxer in Japan with that Olympic gold and good looks of his. How many other countries can you think of where the national darling most popular boxer in the country was robbed against a foreigner in their own backyard? Not just robbed but robbed blind and of their undefeated record in their first (vacant) world title fight?

Inoue was coming to 122 regardless of whether Fulton was there or not so it's not a concession that he is making but rather a progression. Fulton is the one who made the concession. He was on his way to 126 after failing to get the MJ fight. He remained at 122 because Inoue sent out the challenge to him. He didn't think twice, he immediately accepted the challenge and the terms. No push back at all.

Massive respect to the previous ones too then. Why suddenly a "massive" respect, as in "massive", to a particular opponent now?
