Huge respect. I'm a big Marquez fan too and I like Katsidis. I might actually be rooting for him on this one... I don't know but this inspiration sounds like a concern for JMMarquez.

Could be another Douglas/Tyson with the loss spurring him on. I hope so, despite, like you, being a big Marquez fan. Katsidis' interview after the Mitchell fight was just something else...he's an incredible asset to the sport.

Wow! Amazing lines, such courage despite this terrible tragedy. Michael had every reason to pull out, yet he found a way to use this to work even harder to win this fight for his brother. Watched the ESPN MMA vs. boxing comparison the other day with Hopkins saying some nice things. But this is why boxing is something else, something more: we have these amazing individuals. I wish Katsidis good luck.

Katsidis will make Pac dropping JMM 3x at row look like novise job.
JMM will spend more time at canvas than he is on his feet.

Michael is truely a hero and a great asset to boxing. He'll be sorely missed when he hangs them up but fingers crossed he has many great nights ahead of him before that happens. I believe Michael will win against JMM, the loss of Stathi will not allow him to lose and even if he does you know he will give it everything and will still be The People's Champion, that's a title no-one can ever take away from him. RIP Stathi and WAR KATSIDIS!!

  10. His statement got me all fired up for this fight. If it were me in his situation I'm not sure I would be able to focus on preparing for such a trivial event as a prizefight in light of this kind of unfathomable loss.

Now Marquez gets 2 Katsidises for the price of 1!

Thought the same thing Jack. Couldn't agree more. The guy always brings it, even under circumstances like this. What's more to ask for?

And we have other fighters pulling out of fights for reasons like: "I eill have a vacation,I have to relax" and "I'm not fighting Wlad,my wife has to give birth to my child"
Big diffrence of mentality, KAts is a true warrior!!! I remeber after his first loss to Casamayor, instead of giving us stupid excuses for his loss, he was appologising for his loss almost in tears, and promising he will be again on top!

As one of the biggest JMM fanatics on ESB (outranked perhaps by only divac)...

    WAR KATSIDIS.

Hell, I was already leaning towards pulling for him before the tragedy.

You know what, something's telling me Katsidis is brewing a massive upset. I know boxing doesn't do sentiments all too often, but maybe the writing's on the wall?

I got nothing but full admiration for Kats. Good luck, mate!
