His more noticeable improvement was more so from around the 2012/13 to 2015.

If there's been any improvement since then, it's incremental, the type that comes from experience. It's difficult to notice improvement when you are facing the likes of Khan, Smith, and Chavez Jr, and it's rare that someone is going to improve after nearly 50 pro fights.

With Oscar's judges? You can take a long walk off a short plank. I don't feel like taking 10 minutes to set up a "BCS9" account because some old hag was flying on peyote.

You need to stop with that Canelo is improving, there are no improvements to be made in Canelo's technical aspects of a fight, all he can work on is tactics, same for Golovkin, Canelo has peaked physically and technically.

Golovkin bust him up against the ropes. In my opinion Canelo had much better success when he stood centre ring and had space to move.

I actually think Canelo improved a lot. His chin is definitely better and so is his footwork.

Most guys lose speed and power going up; I feel he kept both. But I agree that he's peaked.

I don't think his footwork improved that much, it's just that he never had to back off in a fight before and fight a retreating fight so there is much more room for good footwork fighting like that. I think in GGG - Canelo 2, it will be Golovkin who will have an ever easier time, I don't see how Canelo can improve from the first fight, he was brilliant, the only way is maybe to stay in the middle of the ring and trade with Golovkin, but that would be a massive risk, one which Canelo might need to take. Golovkin on the other hand will not be taken over by the occasion like he was in the first 3 rounds and he will go to the body a bit more as he knows Canelo's power and that it can't hurt him, I see either a GGG knockout in 10 round or a 10-12 round domination by him.

Good post. Agree on this. I want to see Canelo suck up one of Golovkin's liver shots and whether he can deal with it.

So if I read this rightly then given that he couldn't make a dent in GGG's chin and couldn't beat him fairly on the cards then Canelo is going to be allowed to seek a stoppage by hitting him in the balls? As that's what happened with loaded dice Ward and Kovalev.

Kovalev soundly outboxed Ward in both fight until the last 2 rounds when he gassed and got repeatedly fouled

Yeah, both were robotic and limited to a jab being their most successful punch and didn't go to the body. Do we really want to start this game again.
