Master Class: Just watched Mayweather-Canelo Again

    WOW!

    What the heck happened.

    Mayweather isn't known for having a big punch, but he certainly punches hard enough to intimidate fighters like Canelo to give this type of performance. :yep

    At 38 it didn't appear as though Mayweather has lost any of his hand speed and his defensive skills are just out-of-this world!

    Mayweather stood flat footed in-front of Canelo for most of the fight and Canelo still couldn't hit him.

    Mayweather's defensive skills are as good or better than Pernell's.

    Honestly, the way I saw it is that Canelo tried way too hard to NOT land one big shot.

    He was trying to go the Marciano route of hitting any part of your opponent and trying to land through effective blocking.

    I don't know what he was trying to do punching into Floyd's forearm-covered-gut all night.

    I remember in the 7th round. Canelo got hit with a hard uppercut, and he looked like he wanted to quit. Floyd has good punching power, he just doesn't throw a lot because he's efficient.

    Canelo outweighed Floyd by more than 20 pounds . Can't believe he didn't try to bulldoze mayweather.

    I don't know if he was overconfident or not, but I was thinking the same thing. And the size difference was apparent in the fight.

    But that's not Canelo's game. He's a Boxer-Puncher. Plus missing punches takes away more energy than landing punching does. And he missed a lot.

    He tried, and tried hard.

    Floyd even let him get him on the ropes a few times. Each time Floyd's back touched the ropes Canelo tried to unleash on him, but all he hit was elbows and occasionally a body shot that had no effect.

    The weight difference was like Loma-Saildo, but Floyd is a professional and hardly ever clinched. Floyd did get hit in the nuts once though as Canelo started getting frustrated. Made me laugh when when they resumed Floyd stuck out his glove for Canelo, but Canelo wasn't going for it. :lol:
