The Great Master has passed away.. A true pioneer in Martial Arts.. You will be missed, but you teachings will live on through your student and their students..
Never really my cup of tea but he was a bit of a full contact kickboxing trailblazer which demands respect. Never really hit the heights of guys like Norris, Wallace, Uquidez, Dorsey etc. But his love of all combat sports was undeniable. So RIP big man. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k_5ZEZobic[/ame]
Joe Lewis was a pioneer in the 1960's in the American martial art/karate world. Bill Wallace said many years ago, (paraphrasing) " If we went into an alley to fight, Joe Lewis would be the one to walk out, and I know that." Joe Lewis was a better fighter, in the sense of a fight being real, than most people ever dreamed about being. He was instrumental in persuading millions to walk away from the mind numbed Sensei/style worshiping nonsense and take responsibility for their own training and lives. He also, from everything I have ever learned, led a life worthy of emulation. RIP Joe Lewis
