Terrible choice by Pavlik. He has everything to lose...and I thought Bernard looked good against Calzaghe.

its interesting to see how a very limited pavlik would adapt to hopkins style. pavlik hits very hard and is very effective against guys with questionable chin, guys with limited mobility, and guys who has been stupid enough to stand toe to toe with him. unfortunately, hopkins is not his regular guy. hopkins is tough, rough and very smart. he always brings something that negates his opponents biggest weapon.

I have to disagree here. He would be fighting ATG's on their way out... not a good way to build a resume.

It served Pacquiao very well because he was in with man whom he outmatched physcially who were also everything he needed to turn him into the fighter he is today.

I'm tired of people like Hopkins and Oscar getting in the way of good fights. Hopkins should retire period. I have no interest in this fight. Hopkins doesn't have the workrate to deal with someone like Kelly prime for prime Hopkins schools him but now he's going to get embarrassed.

Pavlik will outwork Hopkins and win either by late KO or UD. Hopkins just doesn't have the workrate to match Pavlik and he doesn't have Taylor or Calzaghe's speed to get an early KO.

This is a disappointing choice. I don't get it at all.

Hopkins is far from his best. A win over him is as meaningful as Calzaghe's win. Another meaningless fight against a faded great. There's very little upside to this fight for Pavlik.

Hopkins has the technique to cause Pavlik all sorts of problems but if his fitness against Calzaghe is anything to go by, he'll be shattered by around the sixth and as long as the weight gain doesn't slow Pav down too much he stops Hopkins in the 10th or 11th. TKO tho, he won't knock Hopkins out.
