I only saw the KO face of death.. Askren is getting up there in age, won't be back this year imo. Maybe against Till in 2020?
To go 19-0 and be obliterated in 4 seconds has to rank up there with Joshua's beating at the hands of Ruiz Jr in terms of all time embarrassing ko's.
The state of Askren when he left the octagon, I've seen a few camera angles on twitter, over 5 minutes after the KO and he looked like a zombie, he didn't know where he was, he didn't know what happened and he probably didn't even know his own name. That was a really bad one, the last couple of blows where just plain savagery. I'm still unsure where the knee landed, where the full impact was, the sound it made was just sickening, it sounded like a slap and crack, so with all that hair I'm assuming side of the face but it looks like the top of the head, temple area. I'm surprised his skull wasn't shattered, I wouldn't be surprised if he has some kind of fracture. He really didn't look right afterwards, he will be in hospital for a while, I'm surprised after a KO like that he is allowed to walk out of the octagon, surely he should have been stretchered out? On his way out the octagon His legs were like jelly, his gait was off, he was white as a sheet and his eyes were glazed, crazy they let people get up and walk to be honest.
So basically it's what you get when you order a 3 piece with extra hot sauce, so hopefully i won't have to no longer fast forward through MMA interviews now that Asskream won't be flapping them gums no more.
That was one of the most badass things, given the context (grudge match, ben undefeated, him being the underdog) Ive ever seen in the UFC. Truly epic, imo.
