Matías Carlos Adrían Rueda vs. Fabián Oscar Orozco II, 10 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Rueda well in control with the 1-2 and body shots at mid-range. Orozco hanging in there with a paintbrush jab while circling and big telegraphed overhand right falling in, but facing superior firepower.

20-18 Rueda

 

Orozco grinding in shoulder first as much as he can to stilt Rueda's progress, but gets backed up by a sequence of body shots and is dropped late in R3 with a 1-6-1-2 (jab, looping right, jab, cross) combo all smashing between his arms to hammer into his organs.

He beats the count and is saved by the bell.

30-26 Rueda

 

Orozco down again late in the fourth, another largely one-sided round despite reasonable effort from Demonio Noni. Rueda drew him into a ring center brawl and clubbed him down with a windmilling right in the aftermath of a jab and uppercut combo at point blank. Orozco has still just been riding with the setup jab and overhand right.

40-34 Rueda

 

The fifth and sixth are just good old fashioned 10-9 ass-kickings, without a knockdown in either. Orozco is getting clipped with hurtful shots to head and body throughout, just nothing quite impactful enough to sweep him off his feet. And he's throwing back all the while; just nothing to get the respect of Rueda.

60-52 Rueda.

 

The seventh is surprisingly competitive, as Rueda seems to have worn himself down physically (and perhaps bruised all his knuckles) from half a dozen frames of intense battery inflicted upon his prey, and is now getting stuffed with some hard-driving body thrusts from Orozco, and seeing his own work on the inside smothered and disrupted as Orozco - in a desperate and highly unorthodox bid to reverse the momentum - actually begins to headbutt down into Rueda's biceps to knock his arms down (and maybe harm the muscles to discourage their use).

10-9 Rueda, by a HAIR. Only close round of the fight so far...and damn close, at that

 

A series of shoeshines and short uppercuts on the face by a Rueda now attacking with renewed vigor and stamina have Orozco wilting. Body shots mixed in and Orozco is backing up gasping. Rueda moves in for the kill and dusts him off.

KO8!!!

 

Demonio Noni may have gotten whitewashed on points but can take a moral victory in here doubling how long he lasted against Rueda in their first encounter, two years ago.

 

La Cobrita improves to now 34-1 (30). He more or less has cleaned up domestically at 130lbs, and his only defeat came at the world class level (where he was crushed in 2 by Óscar Rafael Valdez Fierro, back in 2016).

 

Fabricio Miguel Bea vs. Franco Waldemar Sotelo, 6 rounds @ lightweight

 

Bea knocked Sotelo's gum shield out with basically the first punch of the fight (a compact left hook)

 

Hugo Alberto Roldán vs. Emiliano Domínguez Rodríguez, 10 rounds @ light welterweight
