In competitive sports, if there is betting involved, match fixing brings in huge financial advantage to the fixers.
In my opinion, in boxing matches match fixing should be investigated thoroughly, because betting in boxing is very popular.
There should be a separate independent organization which is recognized by all sanctioning bodies, whose sole responsibility should be to investigate if match fixing is involved in boxing matches where certain amount of money is subject to betting.

And who is gonna pay for that? The ones who have the power to make it happen are the ones profitting from corruption.

Boxing needs an international governing body that is immune to corruption. Good luck with that. Right now the rats are in charge of the cheese and nothing is going to change that. Especially us commenting online. Boxings best hope died with McCain. It will be another generation before anyone else picks up that torch.

This. It also doesn’t help that the corruption can also sometimes be beneficial to the fighters. Considering with the way sports and especially boxing works fighters can sometimes make way more to take a dive than they would to win. I’ve known local fighters that were skilled and experienced, but were barely making rent money fighting and winning, but then fight a well known prospect and put on the worst performance of their life, but can suddenly afford a house.

Pro sports, all of them, are a gigantic money laundering machine.
    Wagering is just an aside.
