Matches that would have happened had the Saudis been around back in the day?

"To be the man you have to beat the man" - Roy Jones Jr

So the man was Dariusz, according to Roy himself.

    Yeah and no.

When that man doesn't want to fight on your ground, you don't want to fight on their ground cos you don't think you will get a fair shake (to be fair, Roy could've gone there and KO'd him and take it out of the judges' hands) and you won't meet in the middle, what else can one do?

Roy was the man despite what he said. He also, "Can't be touched, can't be moved". Survey says, that was a lie.

Holmes was the ultimate prize-fighter but I can see a Clenelo-Benavidez situation even if the money was around so idk if he would have tried to risk and chase the undisputed crown.

Europeans were getting robbed blind in the US as well, so no wonder Dariusz didn't want to fight on Roy's ground, especially seeing how big Jones was as a PPV star. Neither of fighters agrees to meet in the middle, so the title of the mam stayed with Michalczewski. Roy might have been, and imo was, better, but he never proved to be the man at 175. You can argue Roy rectoactively became the man after Dariusz lost to Hernandez, whom Roy already beat tho.

    I hear you.

Roy could've gone there and beat him by KO if he wanted to. I understand why it didn't happen but it doesn't absolve the lack of name on his record, especially when I genuinely believe that he would've dog-walked him.

I don't believe in the retrospective as Foreman beat Frazier who beat Ali who beat Foreman.

Who are these Europeans who were robbed blind?

Dariusz ultimately losing to a previous Roy Jones opponent, Julio Gonzalez (who boxing writers thought was so bad when Jones fought him that they started the 'Roycott'), pretty much ended the argument.

Right. ;) Don't remember the laundry list of European fighters who came to the U.S. and got "robbed" on the cards against Roy Jones.

Yeah, serious question. The only guy I can think of is Axel Schultz. Meanwhile, guys like Charles Brewer and Glen Johnson would come back from Europe with close decision loses.
