Now I'm wondering not just about fights when a less skilled fighter knocked out his much more skilled opponent, but how often an INEXPERIENCED less skilled boxer beat an experienced, skilled boxer. There have to be some cases when the winner was at least much less experienced, and worth mentioning.

Any time someone gets a big KO/KD while they're very behind on the cards, it's a "lucky hit" to me.

Benn knocking out G-Man deserves a mention.

I agree with this assessment: in terms of skill Khan stagnated probably sometime around the Garcia fight, and due to his inactivity and the fact that he is only really ever in the gym to prepare for a fight (Khan himself has admitted this in the past) his skill levels have receded since.

While reading your post I pictured in my mind's eye, for some unknown reason, Jonah Lomu doing a chest-height tackle on Lionel Messi.

    Definite yellow card.

Ha3x Messi might not get up lol. The thing is I don't think there is any rugby fan who would think there's any chance whatsoever that a rugby team could compete in a soccer match. But I think there are plenty mma or casual fan that think Connor has a good shot at this. It will be a rude awakening lol..

Messi would be on the deck for an entire century.

I know, it's all based on the premise that Conor is a good striker.

Some things the people who think McGregor will win might like to consider:

Number 1: Conor isn't going in there with a glass-jawed Jose Aldo.

Number 2: Conor won't be allowed to kick Floyd in the head and take him down.

Number 3: It's a known fact Conor has been getting schooled in sparring by Chris van Heerden. In addition to this, reports are that Floyd has been looking reasonably sharp in his preparations:

    https://www.mmamania.com/2017/6/22/...partner-will-break-hearts-conor-mcgregor-fans

Now, if Conor McGregor is getting embarrassed by fringe contender van Heerden, imagine what an (admittedly faded) Floyd Mayweather Jr will do, even if he does decide to coast.

David Tua vs Maskaev I think it was. Tua was getting outboxed and then boom Tua snatched defeat in the 11th round by devastating knockout.

Julian Jackson's awesome KO of Herol Graham with one eye closing comes to mind.
