How would top-2 prospects from one country fought each other? Who would win and how? Ukraine: Vlad Sirenko (8-0, 7 KOs) vs Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (8-0, 6 KOs) Canada: Simon Kean (15-0, 14 KOs) vs Oleksandr Teslenko (13-0, 11 KOs). I know Teslenko is Ukrainian, but he is listed in Canadian rankings on BoxRec. China: Junlong Zhang (19-0, 19 KOs) vs Zhilei Zhang (18-0, 14 KOs) Croatia: Filip Hrgovic (5-0, 4 KOs) vs Peter Milas (12-0, 9 KOs) DRC: Martin Bekole (11-0, 8 KOs) vs Yhibuabua Kalonga (8-0, 4 KOs) France: Tony Yoka (5-0, 4 KOs) v Rafael Tronche (10-0, 5 KOs) Germany: Agit Kabayel (18-0, 13 KOs) vs Tom Shwzrz (21-0, 13 KOs) Kazakhstan: Ivan Dychko (6-0, 6 Kos) vs Zhan Kossobutskiy (6-0, 6 KOs) New Zealand: Junior Fa (15-0, 8 KOs) vs Hemiu Ahio (10-0, 7 KOs) Nigeria: Onoriode Ehwaireme (17-0, 16 KOs) vs Efe Ajagba (5-0, 5 KOs) Russia: Sergey Kuzmin (12-0, 9 KOs) vs Rostislav Plechko (12-0, 12 KOs) USA: Adam Kownacki (17-0, 14 KOs) vs Trevor Bryan (19-0, 13 KOs) UK: Nathan Gorman (13-0, 11 KOs) vs Joe Joyce (5-0, 5 KOs) or Nzthan Gorman (13-0, 11 KOs) vs Daniel Dubois (8-0, 8 KOs)
That would be fun, although a lot depends on the stage of development, especially for the younger prospects without much amateur experience. My picks: Ukraine: Sirenko Canada: hard to call, I rate both. China: Zhang (Junlong) Croatia: Hrgovic, Milas is pretty decent too. DRC: Bakole France: Yoka, don't rate either though Germany: Kabayel Kazakhstan: Dychko New Zealand: Fa easily Nigeria: Ajagba Russia: Kuzmin, he's further ahead as a pro at the moment. USA: Kownacki easily UK: Right now Joyce probably beats the other two It's been a bit thin at the top of the division lately but actually this reminded me that there are a good number of interesting prospects in the pipeline, to say nothing of Fury coming back as well ...
I would have see most these guys which why I didn't include them in my future impact on the HW rankings! Joyce, Sirenko, Dubois are the most dangerous 3. Gorman and Hrgovic are the best technical thinkers coming up.. ....... i believe Sirenko is going to be the best .
Ukraine: Vlad Sirenko (8-0, 7 KOs) vs Oleksandr Zakhozhyi (8-0, 6 KOs) From what i have seen so far i'll go with Sirenko although Zako has a serious size advantage here. Sirenko looks like the more versatile boxer, more agile and moving better. I can see him outworking Zako from the distance. Canada: Simon Kean (15-0, 14 KOs) vs Oleksandr Teslenko (13-0, 11 KOs) I like both Kean and Teslenko and i also think both are really good, it's very hard to predict who would have the upper hand in a direct encounter but my feeling tells me Kean would win this. But very tight fight. China: Junlong Zhang (19-0, 19 KOs) vs Zhilei Zhang (18-0, 14 KOs) Both are old and both are definitely overrated due to an unbeaten record with a high KO% but Junlong Zhang looks like the much better boxer. Croatia: Filip Hrgovic (5-0, 4 KOs) vs Peter Milas (12-0, 9 KOs) Milas came from nowhere but looked really decent in his last fights also he had some minor problems with an old and shot Pianeta who is still a solid opponent. But Hrgovic should be the clear favorite here, Milas has to step up his work rate. I also think Milas power is a bit overrated while Hrgovics is underrated due to the Gorman comparison after both fighting Big Sexy. DRC: Martin Bakole (11-0, 8 KOs) vs Yhibuabua Kalonga (8-0, 4 KOs) Bakole is an absolute beast. Should win this quite comfortably. France: Tony Yoka (5-0, 4 KOs) v Rafael Tronche (10-0, 5 KOs) Yoka is awful for an Olympic gold medalist and i think he will get exposed badly vs the first decent puncher who can move. But he should beat Tronche. Germany: Agit Kabayel (18-0, 13 KOs) vs Tom Schwarz (21-0, 13 KOs) Schwarz is an awful boxer in terms of skills and technique, i really think he is so overrated because of his record. Kabayel should fairly easy outpoint him but he has to be cautious cause Schwarz has serious power if he can connect. Kabayel showed he is more than only power and size. I hink he did as well as Rivas vs Hubeaux and he outworked Chisora who is still past his prime but looked better recently so not completly shot. Kazakhstan: Ivan Dychko (6-0, 6 Kos) vs Zhan Kossobutskiy (6-0, 6 KOs) Kossobutskiy is a great prospect, i rate him nearly as high as Dychko but Dychko is probably the biggest prospect out there i assume. So i would pick him to beat Kossobutskiy. Dychko is so fast for his size and his power is real. New Zealand: Junior Fa (15-0, 8 KOs) vs Hemi Ahio (10-0, 7 KOs) Fa should have a serious advantage in terms of size here, no idea if he can use this. I would probably pick Fa because of solid activity recently while Ahio only fought once since the end of 2015. Nigeria: Onoriode Ehwaireme (17-0, 16 KOs) vs Efe Ajagba (5-0, 5 KOs) Let's be clear here, Ehwaireme is nothing special. He only fought bums and cans, no big deal to have such a record if you fight such an opposition over the years. I mean he is a pro for eight years now and hasn't fougt any serious and living opponent. Ajagba would destroy him. Russia: Sergey Kuzmin (12-0, 9 KOs) vs Rostislav Plechko (12-0, 12 KOs) Kuzmin is the better boxer. Plechko is overrated imo, solid power but awful skillset. Kuzmin would outpoint him quite easily. USA: Adam Kownacki (17-0, 14 KOs) vs Trevor Bryan (19-0, 13 KOs) I am a bit surprised to read Trevor Bryan here. And i also think Kownacki isn't a prospect anymore, i mean he is a Top 10 HW right now. No matter if deserved or not. I would pick Kownacki here but i would call another matchup for the US: Jermaine Franklin vs Trey Lippe. UK: Nathan Gorman (13-0, 11 KOs) vs Joe Joyce (5-0, 5 KOs) or Nathan Gorman (13-0, 11 KOs) vs Daniel Dubois (8-0, 8 KOs) I would pick Joyce in all fights vs Gorman and vs Dubois. For me is the real deal in the UK. Absolutely unfightable guy, awkward style, he is destroying the opponent not with his single punch power but with an extreme activity and a high rate of hard punches to the guard and to the head/body.
This is why I love this forum, makes me feel like a casual but hey I’m ok with that. I do like Dubois if only for his wrecking ball style, needs more rounds under his belt. I have noticed that the general consensus seems to be that Joyce has more about him than Dubois but at heavyweight and if you can punch as hard as Dubois does then anything’s possible?
Ukraine: Sirenko. His style's perfectly suited to topple a lumbering giant like Zakho. Canada: Really hard to call, but I'll go with Teslenko. Kean's bigger and has more power, but Teslenko's rapid hand speed and excellent variety would probably allow him edge it. China: Zhilei just because I've seen more of him. Zhang Junlog's record is impressive but there's almost no footage to go by. Croatia: Hrgovic would take Milas to school. Overall das more skillful, with a much higher workrate. DRC: Bakole steamrolls. Insane natural handspeed, power, and reflexes. France: Yoka pretty easily. He's not the next big thing, but he's better than a lot of people think his. Very fast and accurate puncher. Germany: Kabayel is more durable and far more versatile. Kazakhstan: Dychko. 7 inch height advantage combined with his speed make it a nightmare for kossobutskiy. New Zealand: hard to say, Fa's stamina is horrendous but he does have skills and his power isn't bad either. I'll go with him but just barely. Nigeria: Ajagba crushs that can crushers head with one punch. Russia: Kuzmin probably whether s an early storm from Plechko and proceeds to expose his lackluster fundamentals and knock him out. USA: Kownacki loses maybe the first round or two to Bryan, then walks him down and beats him into submission. UK: Gorman has success early against Joyce, but tires and gets smacked around. Dubois simply doesn't have ring generalship to mangage Joyce's pressure or the speed to evade it, so unless he catches him with something big early the same happens to him.
I'm surprised that people here are favouring Junlong Zhang to beat Zhilei Zhang. Zhilei was two-time Olympian (2008 and 2012) and won a silver medal in 2008. Plus he is taller and fitter of the two.
