Haha yeah it did work out well. I only went and passed out into the 2nd round of Donaire - Frampton and missed the rest of the fight. I blame the Tete sparring session!!
Benn fought a guy ranked 658 in the world, although Benn's ranked around the 100 mark, he should be fighting people at least in the top 200 by now
He’s 162. He should be fighting people in the top 150/100. He’s effectively just came off a loss so I can understand this one but next time out he really needs to step up. How would he do against Upton who’s 170? Johnny Coyle 18(2)-0-1 who’s 140 and clearly a non puncher. He’s only 21 Benn so what about them WBC Youth titles?
Its all good people saying that benn is young and developing but don't put him on the big shows yet the shows we pay our sky subscriptions for... I don't really wanna see benn vs someone not even in the top 600... If he needs time to develop let him go off and do some small hall shows or get on the nxt gen shows surely that's what there for?
I agree. I’m not advocating for him to be on our screens. I’ve said before that a lot of fighters (not just Benn) would be better off on these smaller non televised shows. We’re basically getting Benn’s Amateur career televised for us.
They are like wresting commentators. Repeat the same line over and over to push a narrative. Then all the mugs use that as their own.
Hearn is definitely a Vince McMahon wannabe. Trying to mesh boxing and 'sports entertainment' into one. Maybe it's working in terms of a growing 'casual' fanbase. But I think purists will be turned off. I much preferred the Frampton card on BT without the silly theatre of the Brook/Khan stuff.
