He can easily transition to heavyweight. Okolie has a huge frame and if he fills out well he will be a problem at heavy. Id back him to beat pretty much all the top guys now.
Couldn’t make the breidis fight as he has a mandatory. They tried to make Goulimarian fight it he has a mandatory to fight egorov. I heard the Goulimairan fight is on a Matchroom show and he will fight Okolie next. Heard Okolie wanted a solid headline fight and no one in WBO was available or carried a name. So they have decided to fight a heavy instead. Not sure who it is but would guess it will be someone like Browne, charr or a bridger like Huck or Jerry Forrest
I'll admit it, I don't mind watching Okolie now. McGuigans tweaked his style to become more fan friendly. Saying that, if he's "dabbling" at heavyweight then it's pretty much a gimme he'll be fighting a pushover.
Alen Cabbage fits the bill nicely as a cream pudding but a non dangerous type such as Hughie 'The Skirt' Fury would be a more durable test.
The skirt would surely box rings around Okoliepus but I'd take great delight in watching him ice the cabbage.
I think he beats The Skirt although he would find it a harder test without much coming back from Fury as usual.
Knowing that there are people out there (Matchroom FC sweet Charlie line Eddie Hearn brings the banter types) who will watch the Okolie show over Taylor v Catterall makes me sad.
Normally when a CW steps up to HWs they get put with a easy touch first fight: Usyk - Winters Gassiev - Sefrei Hunter - Woods So following that I expect Okolie to be put against a opponent that the likes of Fury or Wilder would normally fight. Maybe Wallin is a possibility?
Usyk fought Witherspoon, not Winters, and could you possibly go 1 post without trying to throw digs at Wilder, Fury and Wallin lol there are plenty of other threads about that haha.
That's it Mitch, you're sacked as the BoxingForum24 CV Analyst. Firstly Hunter’s reference went out the window when he drew with Forrest and now getting names of opponents wrong. New applicants apply within.
