I seen Eddie Hearn Tweeted yesterday that a big show in Liverpool is to be announced soon for March. Any ideas of any of the fights that will be announced? What would everyone like to see? Surely we will see Bellews debut up at Cruiser and personally I would like to see Paul Smith vs Rocky Fielding for the British/Commonwealth Super-Middleweight titles Discuss......
has paul smith officially joined matchroom? think rocky fielding is a bitter, so paul smith v fielding has a red v blue thing to it as well. and i'd expect at least one other smith brother, would be funny if eddie managed to get all 4 of them on one show after what nearly happened last year
Haha!...surely you would think he would have to put on a competitive card after the Christmas "*******" at the Excel... I think Paul Smith is a free agent at the minute, so him against Fielding should be easy enough to make. I can see Callum defending his WBC fringe belt, probably against some Argie who has never been stopped. Can also see them pushing Swifty for some kind of eliminator to get him up the rankings It will be interesting to see who the get for Bellew...
Quigg defending his belt to headline perhaps? Don't think he has got any fights lined up. I'd expect Rose to be on the card too in a tune up fight ready for his title shot (He is the mandatory isn't he?) Can also see their been a few decent domestic fights like the aforementioned Paul Smith vs Fielding on the card too.
Quigg and Rose and both quite a good shout actually with them both being from the North-West. They could have Quigg in a defence of his belt and sell it as a "World" title fight. It could be risky to put Rose in a warm up though, as I'm sure the Andrade mandatory must be called soon? I would personally much rather see competitive domestic fights rather then "big names" in against no hopers
Never mind the Liverpool show in March, Hearn has got three shows before that to put on in Cardiff, Hull and Glasgow. You can tell by the number of shows in a short space of time Hearn is already setting his stall out in the new year by choosing quantity over quality yet again. I mean Hearn should be cancelling at least 2 of these shows to concentrate on getting two good shows or one at least, but instead were going to get two **** poor shows again :-(
When has it ever been the case that there have been 4 quality cards in 3 months from a single promoter?
Hearns got too many dates and at least two of these shows are going to be **** poor just like his last few bills. Why couldn't he he just put on two shows instead and make the cards bigger and better for the viewers in attendance and at home..
More boxing > less boxing imo Perhaps ******, Hatton, McGuigan and the like could step up and put on a decent card for once?
So this is acceptable for putting out sh1te shows then? Hearn is only getting away with these sh1te shows because Sky rely on the other sports in their package with football, rugby and F1 etc.
