Hearn has misled the public with Cornish Pasty focusing on both undefeated records etc when it is a 100/0 fight according to the Bookmakers and most of the public with the slightest clue about boxing. His bull flows like a bucket full of curry coming out an elephant's ass
It depends on what stage of the fighters career who they fight. There's nothing wrong with the Joshua vs Cornish for the Commonwealth title, and Hearn never said it's a 50/50 fight. AJ still progressing up the levels in competition and getting a Commonwealth title is part of that, albeit against an easy opponent, he's undefeated and the first guy who will try to win rather than survive. It's not like it's a step down from who he's already fought, just another stepping stone to get to where he wants to be. Coyle was a stepping stone for Campbell and it was never labelled as a 50/50 fight, it was Campbell's first live opponent and a big fight for Hull where are both from. No one can really say how good Warrington is yet until he faces some decent boxers but he's done what's been asked of his so far and steadily increased the quality of opponents he's faced throughout his career and getting better with each fight. Luckily for Hearn he has a city behind him so he can make a few quid as well. The Brook vs Gavin fight was a panic move by Hearn. After he splashed the cash to get Gradovich and Linares to come over to defend their world titles he needed it to be PPV and with the plan to have the headline fight of Degale vs Dirrell falling through after Haymon won purse bids, he needed a back up on short notice. That's why we got Brook vs Gavin headlining.
Never built Joshua vs Cornish as 50/50, if he had then he wouldn't already have an agreement for the next fight. Coyle vs Campbell was massive to their market, that not the average boxing fan, it is for someone from Hull, that's it. Brook vs Gavin was not the reason for the PPV and you know that, most people were happy with that PPV so stop making a stupid argument. Some boxing is better than no boxing because no other UK promoter is doing anything, FW cant make any cards at the minute, Hennessey isn't doing anything either, so yes Hearn could be doing much better but he is still doing a damn sight better than any other UK promoter.
Its a commonwealth title fight, it is what it is. AJ like it or not is not going to be facing Tyson Fury anytime soon. Cornish is a good domestic fighter that's all, but that is the level AJ is at. He maybe much better than Cornish but its still a title fight against an unbeaten fighter and its a guy with big size, something he hasn't faced yet, he cant just fight small heavyweights like Fury has because he will then struggle against the big guys.
What's the chances of the new signing being Haye? Been interviewed today saying announcement coming soon (I know he's said that before) but after what Hearn said it could tie in
if its haye its a safe bet for Hearn because he wont have to pay him because he will pull out with another fake injury
My guess would be Andy Lee. Can't see it being Eubank Jr, as we're well aware him and especially his old man are very difficult to deal with.
I agree that Eubank Jnr would become a star on Sky TV Makes sense Despite how hard his dad is to deal with
Press conference now this Friday (25th September). Has anyone heard any thing else or is Eubank Jnr still the front runner?
