Judging by social media posts from both Eddie Hearn and Daniyar Yeleussinov, looks like Matchroom are set to announce the signing tomorrow Thoughts?
He beat Josh Taylor and Josh Kelly in the amateurs and he's an Olympic gold medallist. Given the success of Eastern Europeans in America, I'd like to see some come over to the UK.
I'm assuming he will part of Matchroom USA. Last year he moved his family to the US to start his professional career. Great signing in my opinion.
Never heard of him, is he really that good beating Taylor and Kelly? Those two are serious boxers is this guy special lomochenko kind?
The guy is absolute quality! Would be amazed if he wasn’t a world champion within a short space of time.
147 will be another division dominated by Eastern Euros soon.. Kavaliauskas, Besputin, Butaev, Stanionis, Yeleussinov..
Yeleussinov is good but kinda defensive/technical, not a big puncher. Would have preferred it if he'd signed Vassily Levit he looked a beast at the Olympics with a more entertaining style.
Can't believe ppl were hyped of this signing at the tume Yeleussinov had a completely amateur style.hes like the eastern euro Tom Stalker. he was never gonna do much as a pro. Hearn quickly realised that and stopped hyping him after his **** performances and has now released him. No chance he wins a world title, he'll be losing as soon as he faces a half decent welter.
Reminds me of Luke Campbell. More suited to the amateurs and both were/are in very tough divisions to win a world title.
They offered the fight to Ortiz and he had no interest in the fight. Issue with daniyar is he is high risk low reward. takes years to market him in pros and only way to do it is to fight regularly. He wanted a big fight amd good money now but everyone Matchroom tried to get they turned it down. I think personally he would have been better staying with Matchroom and taken 2 or 3 fights to get him up the rankings like Michael Mckinson
