why was this not originally billed as for british title ?

heard bunce talk about it, didnt mind bunce saying it was now for the british title but originally wasn't.....but when he said he knew why but couldn't say, it invited a raised eyebrow and a "oh yea??"

Martin Gethin hasn't defended the title in well over a year mate due to injury. Anthony Crolla was mandatory for a while and I think a fight between the 2 of them went out to purse bids a couple of times but never materialised because of Gethin's injury. Crolla then give up his mandatory position to go and fight Gavin Rees and the board then mandated Terry Flannigan for the title. I think the reason the fight weren't announced for the British at first was because they didn't think the board would sanction it as Flannigan was mandatory and Gethin hadn't defended the title in so long, hence why it was originally meant to be for that WBA belt. But the Board, Frank, Gethin, Mathews and Flannigan have come to an agreement that the winner of the Gethin/Mathews fight will fight Flanigan next for the Title. That is my understanding mate.
