Who knows? I don't care though, it really has nothing to do with all of this. The fact is - I just don't believe his story, way too many holes in it for me to accept it.

It is what it is. You guys can go believe it all you want to, but count me out.

I bet if Broner stayed on a knee because of his eye, 99% of you clowns wouldn't defend him like you're defending Matthysse.

I don't just take what people say for granted, especially boxers, as they come out with complete garbage at times, but, judging from his past fights and health issues and until any medical diagnosis is forthcoming, I will hold of judgment for now. I am just giving him the benefit of the doubt for now - innocent until proven guilty.

As for him mentioning it or not in his corner, I don't know. I don't speak Spanish, plus the commentators on the British channel kept talking during the breaks.

You say you are being objective, and i'll take your word for it (just like I am taking Lucas' for now), but shouldn't you wait to pass judgment until all of the facts are out? What is it with this modern day obsession to have an opinion on everything straight away before all the facts are known?

Well, he does have a history of flip flopping (The retirement story) so I'm a little hesitant to do so and an emotional wreck at times so it's hard to really completely believe him. He seemed to be seeing fine post-fight. But of course, that's just me. Take it with a grain of salt.

I'm just going by what I saw and I could be wrong so I'll take your advice and hold judgement until then.

All I'm doing is stating my mind, and what I believe. A lot of people believe that his word is gospel, I don't.

I will say this though - If real medical scientific facts do come out supporting his claim. Then I'll admit that I was wrong about him. Until then, I'm believing my own deductions.

You will never see that doctor supporting his claim. But, dont worry, probably with salt water his eye will be fine soon.

I have no problem with you stating your opinion, and it has been good to have a conversation with someone on here without it descending into childish insults.

I've seen someone have a stroke right before my eyes and one of their eyes was affected they lost vision for awhile and it was the most terrifying experience of their life, to have something so integral possibly taken from you permanently and to not know it'll ever come back is truly jarring.....and since most of you haven't been faced with a decision like that in your lives please shut the f*** up. And get off of Lucas' ass you armchair tough guys.

Potentially Not being able to see your kids for the rest of your life is more important than proving how much of a man you are in a Boxing match....Grow up.

I believe him for many reasons.Despite the fact he was being frustrated before the headbutt he was taking control of the fight having postol a bit hurt. After the headbutt he stop throwing punches and that let Postol make his comeback into the fight. As you were wondering why he didnt quit in dsg fight i think he didnt quit because it was the first time he got a swollen eye like that and he wasnt aware of the risk he was taking. Then in the molina fight he suffered a accidental headbutt again and you could see this time he was concerned about it .Also, i think a headbutt in the eye hurts more and makes more damage than a punch if i am wrong please someone correct me.

I see zero reason to doubt Matthysse here, and he's proven his toughness to me a number of times over. He's shooting straight here. He gives Postol credit and admits how frustrated he was. That's more gracious than how 99.9% of losing boxers react.

Frankly, how anyone can hold bowing out against him can only be due to trolling or idiocy. You don't mess around when it comes to eye sight, too many guys wind up going at least partially blind for life from the sport as it is.

All you dumb f**** over the years who endlessly complained about Victor Ortiz and called him a "quitter," I better see you all typing up the same comments with the same venom for Lucas Matthysse that you had for Ortiz. Dumba** forum posters you have no shame or consistency.
