    100% truth.

The problem is that most people ridicule some boxers for doing something and then when another boxer does the exact same thing their opinions magically change. And then they change back. And then when they need to for sake of their emotions, they change back again.

Yeah, without question. Ortiz in the Josesito fight had a completely severed-in-two jaw. So people who called that weak really are idiots.

I was just talking about Ortiz-Maidana compared to Matthysse-Postol. If one is a "quit job," then both of them are. No other way of looking at it.

Difference is that in the Garcia fight it was closed from swelling causing him to lose his vision, against postol his eye was not swollen and he couldn't see out of it, which indicates something genuinely wrong, not just swollen shut. Something clearly changed after round 7, Matthysse had all the momentum and then suddenly just stopped throwing and letting postol hit him, yet before that he was doing a good job of parrying and slipping a lot of the shots.

If he was winning almost every round instead of losing almost every round and if he had just scored the KD rather than just been KD'd... well, would the eye still have made him quit?

    Highly, highly doubtful.

Bottom line is there's nothing wrong with quitting mid-boxing match (unless it is legitimately for a fixed/predetermined outcome). It sucks for them and to be a fan of them, sure, but so does getting punched over and over again while exhausted.

One announcer said Lucas has no power to hurt Postol although he rocks him in the first 6 rnds.

    This.

    Thanks.

He was physically and psychologically beaten and worn down and at a point where he was losing every round clearly. I believe his eye (sure, why not), his fatigue, and his frustration all had to do with it.

Bottom line is that he could not handle what he was up against.
