Nobody disputes that the fight was a close fight. Just went to the wrong man.

I doubt that sir, it's not at all his style. All he has to do is pump that jab for the next three months. they should go on the undercard for Pac/Mayweather

Yeah it was a close fight that could have gone either way . . . I thought you were saying that Williams will streamroll Martinez?

What happened to your expert ass . . . clown. Not tired of eating your own shits?

Did you changed the thread title already?

There was no wrong man. Either guy winning would have been fine.

Fight was most definitely not a robbery. I remember giving Martinez the first three, Williams took the next three, a couple of swing rounds after that. Martinez took the 11th on heart and Williams finished stronger in the 12th. Some people call robbery every ****in' fight.

i thought martinez won the first round cause he clearly hurt williams twice and the knock down scored for williams was more of out of balnce in martinez part.

I posted this in another thread but it applies here as well......

I though Martinez won quite clearly.........I'll go as far as calling it an outright robbery.

On punchstat, Williams was being credited with too many shots that had very little behind it.....and Williams for great portions of the fight though busy, his shots were'nt reaching Martinez.

If someone would have told me that Martinez would fight the whole fight with his hands held down the way they were, I would have said he would have gotten knocked out easily.........but it actually seemed to help Martinez have a better view of Williams' incoming and be able to guage how far to pull back........

His hands to his side was actually helping Martinez get a better view of incoming and be able to pull, slip, and roll with the punches.

Martinez clearly won the fight imo......I'd say he landed 75% of the total clean effective connects between the two.

This is how I scored it.......

    Rounds 2,3,4,5,8,10,and 11 for Martinez.

Rounds 6,7,9, and 12 for Williams.

    Round 1 I scored even.

    116-113 for Sergio Martinez.

I had it 116-113 for Martinez and I did'nt even feel it was that close.

......two rounds that I scored for Williams I felt were close enough rounds that could have been scored even or even the other way.
......those were rounds 9 and 12.

.....the 12th especially was a sloppy round and thus tough to score.

....in any regards, Martinez won his rounds much clearer than Williams won his.

116-113 Martinez and a robbery of fight.

The judge who had it 119-110 should never judge another fight again, but sadly this is boxing we're talking about, and he'll probably get a raise instead for doing what he was told to do.
That was'nt incompetence by that judge, it was dishonesty.

Let me add as well.....I believe that alot of people who scored it a draw or for Williams were influenced by the body language of Martinez......but that, I mean that he looked to be like the fighter who was tiring.
He seemed to be the fighter that was getting tired, and imo it influenced how alot of people scored.

.......the only thing as that he looked tired, but he kept throwing punches and landing the better, cleaner and harder one's.

I believe that body language may have given alot of you the illusion that Martinez was losing the rounds, when in fact if you paid attention to waht you're supposed to......which is who was landing the cleaner more effective blows, it was Martinez all the way.

Martinez fought with his hands down for the whole fight, that even created an even bigger illusion that he was tired..........fighters drop their hands when they're tired.....but in this case, Martinez fought that way from the opening bell.

    Just my honest opinion.

    9. Williams
    10. Martinez
    11. Williams
    12. Martinez

115-113 Martinez, and the rounds that Martinez won he won bigger, I think that's why alot of people are calling robbery. Watching the fight live without scoring rounds it really looked like it was Sergio's fight, but once you score it you realise that it could either be 115-113 for either fighter or a draw. Also the 119-110 really makes it look like the fix was on against Martinez.

Martinez didn't win the 11th. He did nothing but get punched while reaching for Williams' body and then wrestle for the first minute to minute and a half. Then he started trading, and Williams matched him punch for punch, hook for hook. Plus Williams kept popping him with jabs the entire round.

Go back and look at that round again. Williams did way more than enough to win that round.

Could have been anything from 116-112 Williams to 116 -112 Martinez, including a draw. Lots of close rounds. I had PW 115-113. I gave him rd 1 and rd 12. I thought Martinez landed the 2 best shots of rd 1, but PW controlled the round for the majority of the first 2 1/2 minutes. Alot of rds were like that.....Martinez coming on very strong at the end....and trying to steal it.

Whatever the score is to you we can see now that Paul is not what he was cracked up to be, Sergio teed off at times. PW won rounds 7 and 9 without any eye catching punches, Martinez won rounds landing bombs.

martinez 115-113. The Boxing Commission should show some balls, toss out the 119-110 score, declare that score 114-114, and declare the bout a majority draw. No that would be the right decision to make, but it obviously won't happen...
