Paul just took on the best 154 pounder in the world and made it a good fight. I think that's a pretty descent accomplishment, unless you think Martinez is no good then what do we have? PW will learn from this and win comfurtably in the rematch using his jab. He still has lots of potential to grow.

I gues I should have been more clear, Paul is not what Walk with me, Ray Hogan, BigReg and Dan Rafeal cracked him up to be. I always knew Paul was good but not great, I give props to both fighters for their performances and determination.

i thought Martinez took the fight but man was it a good one...credit to both fighters for even taking such a risky fight.

I had Martinez winning rounds 1,2,5,8,10,11,12
    Williams winning rounds 3,4,6,7,and 9

Some very close rounds...gave the close rounds to the fighter who landed the cleaner, harder, and more effective shots.

We need a rematch at 154.

    1) 10-10 draw
    2) 10-9 m
    3) 10-9 m
    4) 10-9 m
    5) 10-9 w
    6) 10-9 w
    7) 10-9 w
    8) 10-9 m
    9) 10-9 w
    10) 10-9 m
    11) 10-9 m
    12) 10-9 w

Round 4 was a better round then the previous 3 for paul but he got outlanded and got hit the cleaner punches.

Round 8 you either fell asleep or you dont count bodyshots.

It was a competitive fight but martinez clearly won in my opinion. If not a robbery what would you call it?

Martinez clearly beat him. Outlanded him, landed the more solid punches, and had a better body of work downstairs upstairs. Punchstats were way off! 7-5 to me is a robbery.

What people are complaining about is the score. 119 -110 means SM had no shot in hell. He fought a good fight against a taller, longer reach, and bigger guy. It was a very good performance and as good as he could probably have done. With that scoreing, other then KOing PW, he had no chance in hell in winning that fight. You can even argue if the other judges were doing the same thing. That's the problem. Granted I don't have an issue with the other judges scores but one rotten blind judge and people with start to question the outcome especially in a close fight.

IMO, but I didn't give it to Martinez based on one or two punches when Williams controlled 95% of the round! Go score the fight without listening to Max Kellerman and Jim Lampley!

Wasn't a robbery by any stretch...but, I just saw the fight again and I can't see giving PW more than 5 rounds...and I was being generous.

5 rounds for Williams isn't generous. How could you score it less than for him?
