He was European champion with 2 defences, what's the problem with the statement ?

He is only the 3rd best welter in Manchester for ****s sake.Nothing against the guy he put up a decent effort but this is why boxing is absolutely ****ed right now.

I would prefer Hatton v Watson II before we see any further escapades into World territory, would be a good indicator of how much he actually has come on.

He took his opportunity when the 2 others did not simple as that, he was unbeaten in nine fights running upto last night

Hatton's promoter is the ******* who spouted this nonsense.Matt is far from ready from the prime time guys in the US and I doubt he will get anywhere near a shot at another world title unless the champ is looking for an easy payday and a tomato can to beat.

i can understand how he got the shot. but the argument is that there are better fighters out there. above and under his own ranking. and it looks bad on british international scene....which we barely have.

and in that it feels like he has got a shot entirely on his name alone. im not dissmissing his struggle. he did own a euro title against soem decent comp.but sturrgled pretty hard. well done on him against alverez. gave a go and was not on par.

few here have disrepct for matt himself just how th epoilitics got him to that point. when 20 other guys in our own scene could of given a better performance. or at least troubled him.

I doubt many UK welterweights fighting Saul Alvarez with an 8 pound weight disadvantage would last 12 rounds

It isn't matty's fault for being cherry picked, he grabbed his opportunity and did quite well, I disagree he deserves a world title shot but should be given the opportunity to regain his European title and then fight a world class gatekeeper

I'm sorry but a lot of people are accusing Berto of facing bums in his title defences; surely Hatton would probably be the worst of the lot!

He's getting some props on the scene for moving up also supposed to have took some good shots and stayed in there.
