I dont think that Hughes' reaction time will be able to cope with BJ's jab these days, if ever. Id give him a chance if he can get it on the ground. But I have to go for BJ, an in shape and mentally prepared and motivated BJ I hasten to add
im a bit of a newbie when it comes to MMA. (only been watching the last year or so) i understand that this fight will be at WW and i know BJ has fought at 170 before, but surely he is more suited for 155. i know in boxing, if a fighter went up 15 pounds in their very next fight, they would more than likely be sluggish and slower. is this not the same in MMA? Can BJ put on those 15 pounds and still compete competitively at 170 agaisnt a natural welterweight?
he never looked good at WW imo... he always looks slow & out of shape, as if the extra weight hes put on is just in fat he should still handilly beat hughes, thats if he comes in with the right frame of mind... bj's mental game is his biggest flaw, closely followed by his corners ill advice & his conditioning
I get ya. Probably a bad thing to compare these fights. but i've seen both guys fight this year. Matt Hughes vs This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Im comfortably saying Penn , if BJ cannot win every round against this version of Matt Hughes there is nothing left for him to prove :deal
