Size alone would have made this a tough fight for Hughes. Realistically, Matt Hughes would be best suited for a 165 weight class, especially given modern weight cutting advancements. Still, I rate Hughes very highly, and I think he would do just fine in modern mma despite the fact that he can't strike. His ground game was truly great and given modern training methods, I think he'd be even better. Khabib vs Hughes would have be a much more intriguing historical fight, imho.
