    Thanks, awesome find. :good

Korobov seemed to run those last 2 rounds and it really cost him he was 8 points clear at one point and just seemed scared to engage.

If you thought that was a schooling, wait until Andre Ward get his hands on Kovalev.

Korobov had a two year stretch were he was as dominant as any amateur ever. Then seemed to fall off big time culminating with his last Olympics.

Kovalev just seemed to get lost in the shuffle of an extremely deep Russian anateur program. There have been several other Kovalevs that never even got a chance to turn professional. They had great pro styles but got lost in the depth and politics of Russian amateur boxing.

Think he went on a 3 year unbeaten run (might have even been longer) at one point and he was taking on the best the world had to offer in various tournaments all throughout that period too. There was very good reason why so many were hyped up about him when he turned pro.

Both Korobov and Kovalev took some big shots in that Russian team cup fight. Good fight.

Sillakh was an excellent amateur. Beautiful boxer to watch too. Moves like he's floating on air.

    He bashed up Atoev

He can bang as well. Here he is flattening a Cuban in the ams.

Kovalev was a kid back then and Korobov was and still is a very good fighter. He holds a win over Usyk as well, which is a very rare thing.

In one of his WC's he only had like 3 points scored against him the entire tournament. Korobov really fell off after that. In the Olympics some Albanian scored more points than that on him in his first match, during a games where points were hard to come by due to stingy scoring criteria.

3 points in the whole tournament? Surely not during the world championships?

Yeah, I think he peaked in the ams and his best was behind him by the time he turned pro. He was struggling against opponents in some of his early pro outings who weren't even fit to lace the boots of guys he trounced with contemptuous ease in the unpaid ranks.
