Any fresh blood is welcomed to try and freshen up the heavyweight division, what with Haye prefering to bad mouth and sit on his arse

Maybe he competes in the new budding 170 lb division with Edison Miranda, Tito Trinidad, Joan Guzman and Bernard Hopkins?

It's a joke due to all these fighters looking for fights at 170 now...like they're stuck between super middle and light heavy. (Hopkins, Tito and Jones are the prime culprits)

Yeah, at 170, the Fly Heavyweight division! :nut

    Korobov is a middleweight.

He's a middle at amateur, which is 75kg which is 165. He'll probably bulk up a bit, so expect him to compete at super middle or even light-heavy.

    Oh, sorry mate long day.
Yea, there is a lot of that going on especially considering SMW is only 2 pounds south.

You might've mixed him up with Rakhim Chakhkiev, another Russian, who won the HW (91kgs) gold.

With Pavlik, Taylor and Abraham all aiming for heigher weight classes...some new talent is definitely needed in the Middleweight scene. Let's hope this guy turns out to be a gem.

I think only Taylor and Abraham can legitimately move up, Pavlik has never rehydrated above 170 I think, whereas Taylor and Abraham have both come in at 175-180 on fight night.

I look forward to Korobov turning pro, like most Russian amateurs now he has a very pro style, and despite not winning a medal in the Olympics he was a star in the ams.

I don't know how Top Rank nabbed him, and honestly wouldn't be surprised if he headed to Germany or Russia later on, much like Shumenov and Chagaev have done.

There's a nice article on a site which a can't name. This is BS! :)cool:)

The lastest on Matt that he's now moved to the US and training with Dan Birmingham. He also often trains with Winky Wright, but don't expect them to spar (yet). His debut is still on November 1, on the Chavez Jr. - Vanda card, and it seems he'll have his 2nd pro fight on the PacMan-DLH event.

Korobov is a great talent. Did the light weight from the Ukraine turn pro. He looked like a special talent. A gold medal winner, and he looked very good while doing it.
