I'm tipping him to clean out the UFC HW scene :yep. Velasquez might have some skills but he'll fold like an old deckchair when Matt hits him. You heard it here first. :good.
I agree the UFC heavyweight division is weak ( it is obvious just by this thread), but I think Cain would make short work of the reality tv character. Not saying it is impossible, but Cain reminds me of a severly diluted Fedor (standup), which is more than enough to dispatch of Mitrione.
He's an athletic guy who can move and hit hard, but we haven't seen him against a good wrestler and there are a few out there at heavyweight that just may take him down and own him. I'll have to see him defend a takedown and/or defend/fight off his back before I think of him as "top ten".
Lets not get carried away just yet. He isn't - I thought he did a very smart realistic appraisal of his ability before calling Barry out. Anyone who gets tired like he did earlier in his career while leaving his chin high up in the air is getting a Velasquezing.
I like Mitrione. He is the first person to say he's not going to compete with the elite guys and just trains hard and improves every time he fights.
I'd love to see him fight Barry, and it's a fight I think he'll win. Then maybe we can start talking about his prospects of fighting the big names.
