How did Matt Skelton fair in K-1 and was he any good? Alot has been made of his previous fighting career before his boxing venture but thhe details have always been abit sketchy. Any clues on sorting it out for me? thanks.

He was 53-8 in kickboxing, 10-7 in K-1.

10-7 really isn't as bad as it looks, because in K-1 the best fight the very best everytime. He was another middle-guy who wasn't on the level of Aerts/Hoost but could still beat anyone on a good night.

What Donut said is pretty much true.... even though 10-7 doesn't look good....it's actually not horrible for K1 standards...
You can't possibly compare K1 to boxing for example. It is extremely , EXTREMELY difficult to pad a record (like most boxers do) and to have a + 30 or 40 victories with only 1 or only 3 losses...type of fighting record.

Hell it's already impressive if you can accumulate 10 victories without a single loss. Kickboxing allows too many variants. In other words even what we'd call "c level" or "b level" fighters have a chance to pull a victory against "top" fighters. It's not like it's extremely common either. But it happens more often than not. (especially when compared to boxing).

Also , unlike boxing...K1 tends to often match top fighters vs top fighters too...(in other words , it's also rare to have the opportunity to fight like..10 or 20 cans in a row before your big fight..)
