Moorer stops him at some point, there’s a reason he declined at an early age, because he had no defence, can’t afford to have No defence against Light Heavyweight Moorer.

I don't think Moorer did/proved enough @ 175 to be favored over someone like Saad/Franklin, & his fight w/ Swindell @ that weight suggests that his chin was shaky even then.

I'd favor Saad to win by stoppage, though likely not w/o some fireworks & rocky moments along the way.

Moorer was hurt by Swindell, struggled with a faded Leslie Stewart (who had recently been kayoed twice and outpointed by Bobby Czyz) does not make it likely he could keep off a peak Saad Muhammad over 15 rounds.

I see Miracle Matthew comeback from an early pasting to breakdown and stop Moorer in 11 rounds.

Moorer's weaknesses @ LHW weren't too dissimilar from the ones he showed up @ HW - a shaky chin & an occasional reluctance to let his hands go.

    Saad.

    superior chin

moorer was much less careful as a lhW and would be his end here

Moorer wasn't the man he later became, at LHW he gets knocked out by Miracle Matthew.

It’s a hard call. You have two guys who both hit very hard but neither were very defensively sound. One of them was a hall of famer at 175 while the other didn’t accomplish much there but went on to be a champion at heavyweight. I can see arguments for both men

I agree with you 100%. Even if you might be "slightly" biased

I think so, too. Saad at his peak was devastatingly durable. He could get back into the fight at any time.

    Hi Guys.
Will go with Saad, probably more to do with sentimental reasoning than much else, he left an indelible impression on me growing up, the adjectives of "warrior, brave, fearless" are banded about much too often in my eyes, but with regards to Saad, they fit perfectly, as they also did with Danny Lopez, I sometimes thought they were a lot similar as fighters, along with Briscoe they formed a large part of my love for boxing in the early to mid 70s.
    stay safe guys, chat soon.

Matt had some experience dealing with world champion southpaws, and after Marvin Camel 2X, Mate Parlov 2X and Marvin Johnson 2X, he had no doubt how to dispatch Louis Pergaud. His primary intended weapon was a left hook to the body, and he unloaded a number of right leads en route to one of his easy title defense stoppage wins. (No, not all his bouts were wars.) From July 1980 to September 1981, Moorer is a less competitive win for Saad Muhammad than most might suppose. Matthew was extremely focused for handling Pergaud. He wouldn't need a comeback for Moorer. He'd be winning from the opening bell until he won the stoppage.
