If matthew applied those tactics to every fight he would ave a much better looking record.

He impressed me, I thought even aold old Tackie would be enough to stop Matthew Hatton, i especially like the counter right uppercut come hook he kept throwing.

I think he should look for a rematch for the commonwealth title, if he boxes clever like he did yesterday, hed probably win.

    I doubt it.

Tackie is on a losing run. He's had a lot of tough fights, he's taken bucket loads of punishment, and he was never skilled. He always relied on physical elements which are faded, so he's virtually a walking chin.

Pretty sure Watson would beat him again.

Dont you think its possible that he could get an alphabet title shot in a few fights?
Look at the cards he is fighting on?
Ricky is well in with GBP, Why couldnt his brother get a fight for a title on the Hatton/pac/oscar undercard.
Dont get me wrong he would be pitched in at the deep end and would lose but I dont think its beyond the realms of possibility that he gets a shot.

Do you remember Gary Lockett getting a shot against Pavlik? Matthew Hatton has more pull than Lockett.

He may have more pulling power, 100% due to his brother by the way, but as far as skill levels go Mathew Hatton makes Gary Lockett look like Sugar Ray Robinson.

Couldn't see Gary Lockett, and I don't even like the bloke, losing to domestic British competition with the kind of records that the guys who defeated Hatton had:

    12-2
    19-15-2
    3-2-1
    9-43-3

I have seen all four of the fights that Hatton jr lost.

The first one was very close, probably a draw
The second was stopped on a cut - should have been allowed to continue (Rd. 2 I think)
The third he was winning easily but get jobbed by Alan Bosworth
The fourth he was ****, and lost easily

All in all, he needs to get away from his brother and make his own career :deal

Yeah his pulling power is due to his brother no doubt.
It was a solid performance the other night against a 'name' in ben tackie.
If it was Khan who fought him then a world title shot would be mooted 1-3 fights down the line as he has just beaten 'ben tackie!' a solid good class operator.
Hatton could get a shot at a title.

    Haha.....

It is true that if someone like Khan or A. N. Other hypejob beat a guy like Tackie they would be ready for a title, but because it is Hatton jr the opponent is old and shot!

In truth, Tackie is pretty old, and pretty shot, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Hatton jr won impressively in a career best performance.

What he needs to do is get straight back in the ring, about 8-10 weeks from now, and fight someone young and decent - perhaps look for an eliminator for the British title?
