Alvarez's punch is overrated. I think may be a little of both.

    yeah I think both

I still think Alvarez KO of Baldomir is a bit overrated.

    Bit of both imo.

I must admit though, I always felt Hatton had a decent chin, he just looks the robust type.

maybe Alvarez was feeling the weight drain as he missed the weight the first time and had to sweat it off for 2 more hours

If he was weight drained then I would hate to see him when he wasn't drained

I think Matt just showed he's tougher than any of us thought.

He went through hell last night, and was on ***** street more than once, and it was obvious Alvarez was connecting with plenty of power shots that would've had many of the same class opponents out of there.

Hatton earned my respect, by refusing to be tko'd, even though he had no chance of winning a decision, while knowing he made a solid 350,000 for Saul's weight issue.

maybe both, matthew hatton may not have his brothers world class pressure skills, but he is still hard as nails and a decent fighter.

He weighed in at 151.75...His fight night weight was 165. 13.25 pounds is up there.
As for his power, it was obvious he has good power. You could HEAR the shots. Hatton would have his hands up, and Alvarez would hit his arms and the force would move Hatton.
I honestly think in the first 2-3 rounds he felt sorry for Hatton, and wanted to make it a good showing. He hit him hard quite a few times, but didn't seem to want to follow up. After that point he tryed to get him out of there, and couldn't.
80% of it was Hattons Chin/ 20% was Alvarez power being somewhat overrated.

Mathew did good ducking and holding. Stayed low. I didn't see a lot of flush shot to the head. Alvarez can punch, but didn't throw any that you can't see coming.
