    Southern area?!? SOUTHERN!?!

Calling a Manc southern is like calling a .... I dunno, I can't think of anything as bad!

Unless, of course, you mean the Southern Britain (meaning England) title.

****ing southern! I've never been so insulted!!;)

what was he like? I know you'll say he was a ***** but why?

His big bro is a good guy, funny how Matthew can be such a *****. Also what happened exactly with the pub incident? Anyone know?

    Fair enough mate.

I'm just reading through this thread and everyone seems proper pissed off about the way Hatton behaved. It sounds terrible! I can't believe he didn't touch gloves!! That's well out of order! It's just.... wrong!

Ndou is a classy guy too, Matt could have done a lot for his cred that night, if he behaved humbly and gave credit where it was due. I'm very disappointed about this but, too be honest, as much as I've been sticking up for him here, the attitude he seems to have displayed pre, during and post fight, does not surprise me and that's sad.

I can't believe he hasn't been bright enough to take a leaf out of Rick's book! Ricky showed the World how to get a big support, his own ****ing brother! And he is either too dim or just too naturally odious to take some of Rick's style, charisma and charm on board.

    Silly silly *******!

EDIT: WGT2, mate. Reading the posts in this thread makes it clear, I simply can't stand up for him. Not after behaviour like that. I would like to think everyone here is wrong and you are all just biased but I know many of the people in this thread (as posters, of course, not in real life) and I know they are good and fair people on the whole, so I can only believe what is written and I find it embarrassing!

Nah, I won't stand up for that. I really can't

    Thanks for that.

Yeah, it's a bit disappointing but not as bad as I expected. Many boxers who get a loss or a draw when they think they won say and act exactly the same. I don't think that, at least the interview, is worth getting angry about. All boxers think they won at the end and all are disappointed. Surely you have seen much worse than this? Especially by the American boxers (not singling out Americans in particular but they, probably because they have had a higher number, have had some terrible losers.

I still think not touching the gloves is a really shitty thing to do though!

I thought the interview was really bad.

If he hadn't talked over N'Dou it wouldn't be that bad..... or the ''fair decision'' thing - he was on his home patch, his bro was the promoter - if he won the fight, it would have gone his way.

Beeston. I'll quote Strike, has he said it much better than myself...

    I completely agree with that.

I still can't get over that guy who reckon Manchester's in the South, though! What you think of that, Beest? Leeds is pretty much on the same lattitude, so he's calling you a southerner too. You gonna stand for that?! ;)

Seriously though, Leighton? Are you in Britain (or Ireland)? You have a Scottish name, so if you are a Scot, I suppose we would be Southern to you but surely you don't think Manchester is a Southern city? How can someone's geography be so poor? Manchester glorifies in it's Northerness. Can't you even tell by the accent?

I'm amazed! Simply amazed! What you said, Leighton, is amazing! Astounding! Astonishing! I'm astonished!

No mate, the guy who did it, who I'll call J, basically just wanted to have a go. He was pissed and took offence to Matt saying, apparently "will you move your ****ing dog!" to J's dad in the pub. Whether he said it as aggressively as that, I don't know, that's just what J told me. James followed him to the bogs and clouted him from behind while he was having a leg.

J can be a nasty ******* at times, especially when he's having a drink but I dunno if he would have gone to such extremes if it wasn't a pro boxer. Doing the same to a no body wouldn't have don't anything for his street cred, if you know what I mean?

Of course, you and others may be talking about another event that I don't know about but I'm certain I would know about it if it happened.

    :rofl

That was pretty poor, calling us all southeners.

I accept the point on Mayorga, he was generally far worse. Hatton will always get up people's nose, because of his leeching (let's say it how it is) off his brother, and his all round bad attitude.

If he had made his own way and got knocked the **** out in area level fights people would have more respect for him, IMO.

There was a brief period though, y'know, a long long time ago, where people were actually thinking that Matt was going to be the better boxer. They thought he was more slick and more skilled, where Rick was more a heavy puncher, who would walk through jabs for a brawl (which is, coincidentally, how some of his later fights turned out).

i saw matthew hatton interviewed on the local news last night. i can kind of almost understand his reaction immediately after the fight (even though he acted like a *****), but a few days later he's sticking to his guns. as far as he's concerned he won that fight by 5 or 6 rounds and was robbed of becoming a "world champion" (a world champ who isn't even in the top 5 domestically!). delusion must run in the family.
